8 “INDIANA SPRINT WEEK” DATES SET FOR 2008

OCTOBER 17, 2007 --- The 21st USAC “Indiana Sprint Week” schedule was finalized last night during the annual “Indiana Sprint Week” race organizer meeting at USAC headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind.

Eight races are planned and the schedule mirrors the 2007 slate with six tracks hosting events.

Lawrenceburg Speedway is the opening venue, with Wednesday and Thursday races July 9-10. Gas City I-69 Speedway is the Friday-Saturday venue July 11-12. Kokomo Speedway hosts the Sunday night, July 13 event.

The 2008 “Indiana Sprint Week” calendar concludes with a Thursday, July 17 date at Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, a Friday, July 18 race at Bloomington Speedway and the Saturday night, July 19 finale at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt.

Dave Darland is the defending “Indiana Sprint Week” champion and hopes to tie Kevin Thomas as the only four-time series titlists. He has 10 career “ISW” feature victories, tied with Jon Stanbrough, only two behind all-time leader Cory Kruseman, who has won 12.

Bloomington Speedway, the penultimate race July 18, marks the 21st appearance of “ISW” at that track, a series record. Kokomo has hosted 17 to date. In all, 108 total races have been conducted, with 35 different drivers tasting victory. Adding their names to that list in 2007 were first-time winners Brady Short, Daron Clayton and Jerry Coons Jr.

“We are pleased to finalize these dates at this time,” said Lucas Oil National Sprint Series Coordinator Greg Staab. “Everyone involved wanted to give race fans ample opportunity to make plans to attend this extremely exciting series of races. Last year’s events were conducted with virtually no weather interruptions and we look forward to the 21st season of one of America’s most competitive motorsports events.”

64 NATIONAL SPRINT, MIDGET DATES SET FOR 2008

DECEMBER 6, 2007 --- A total of 64 USAC National events have been finalized for 2008, comprising the preliminary Lucas Oil Natioanl Sprint car and National Midget Series championships. Thirty-four tracks in 14 states are involved. The National Midget Series debuts Feb. 15-16 with the “Copper on Dirt” at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz., while the Lucas Oil Sprints kick off the 2008 season April 5 at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The Sprint cars conclude the 2008 campaign with the “Western World Championships” at Phoenix, while the Midget finale is again the “Turkey Night Grand Prix” at Irwindale, Calif.

Tracks returning to the schedule in 2008 are Williams Grove (Pa.) Speedway and Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. (Sprints), and Slinger (Wisc.) Speedway, Rockford (Ill.) Speedway, Union County Speedway in Liberty, Ind. and Joliet (Midgets). Tracks hosting their initial National events will be Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway and Shady Bowl Speedway in DeGraff, Ohio (Sprints); and Southern National Raceway Park in Kenly, N.C. and LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway in New Salem, Wisc. (Midgets). Shady Bowl has previously hosted the Midgets and LaCrosse has previously hosted USAC Stock Cars.

Traditional events highlight the calendar once again, including Indiana Sprint Week, the Tony Hulman Classic, Rich Vogler Classic, Joe James/Pat O’Connor Classic, Glen Niebel Classic, Border Wars, Four-Crown Nationals, Perris Oval Nationals and Western World Championships for the Sprints; and the Night Before the 500, Belleville Midget Nationals, Knoxville Midget Nationals, Copper on Dirt, Hut Hundred, Four-Crown Nationals, Turkey Night Grand Prix, Hall of Fame Classic, Sue Thiel Memorial and Indiana Midget Week for the Midgets.

Expansion of the Eastern Sprint Car Swing now reflects four dates, while Indiana Midget Week has been expanded to six races. Indiana Sprint Week remains at eight events for 2008.

Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway 2008 schedule announced

Tulare, CA - December 10, 2007...After another successful year of racing competition, the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway is pleased to announce the 2008 schedule of events for the 1/3 mile clay oval located at the Tulare County Fairgrounds. The racing calender at the Thunderbowl will once again see 13 nights of competition that will include action from February to late October featuring some of the premier sanctioning bodies in sprint car racing.

The season will open with a two night event featuring the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaw Sprint Series on February 22 and 23. This date is one week earlier than had previously been announced due to a scheduling conflict at the fairgrounds. The World of Outlaws will then return in the Fall for a single night show on Saturday October 18. Winners from this past season's Outlaw events at the Thunderbowl Raceway include two-time defending series champion Donny Schatz, series runner-up Joey Saldana and California fan favorite Tim Kaeding.

The Golden State Challenge King of California 410 Sprint Series will once again compete in four individual nights of competition at the Thunderbowl. The dates will all be on Saturdays and they are March 29, April 26, May 10 and June 28. The May 10 event will be the Chris & Brian Faria Memorial and the June 28 GSC stop will be the Pombo/Sargent Classic. This past season saw the Pombo/Sargent Classic held in April, but next year it will be a return back to normal as it’s held during the warmer Summer months like it had been for so many years. The Western States Modifieds will run alongside the Golden State Challenge Series during all events.

Returning for the second straight season will be the Salute to Indy featuring the USAC/CRA Wingless 410 Sprint Car Series on Sunday night May 25. This past season’s event held on Memorial Day weekend was very successful as it saw a good crowd witness a great night of racing. Also in competition during the night will be the Western States Modifieds. The defending champion of the Salute to Indy is Ventura, CA’s Cory Kruseman who picked up the win during the inaugural USAC/CRA Series event in Tulare last May.

Also returning to the Thunderbowl will be the 2nd annual U.S. Western Modified Nationals and the event will once again feature three night’s of action being held on September 25, 26 and 27. The first ever U.S. Western Modified Nationals this past season saw over 110 dirt mods compete for the $25,000 top prize. It was an event that showed huge potential and with a few tweaks in the program this is expected to be a can’t miss show come late September.

The Tulare Thunderbowl will close out the season by hosting the popular Trophy Cup on October 24 and 25, making it the fourth consecutive year that the event for 360 winged sprint cars has been contested at the 1/3 mile clay oval. The purse for the 15th annual Trophy Cup will also see an increase to $100,000 and it is expected to substantially bump up the amount of money to start Saturday night’s 40 lap main event. Since coming to the Thunderbowl in 2005, the Trophy Cup has see outstanding racing and has grown into one of the top sprint car events on the West Coast.

The ‘08 season looks to be another good one for Thunderbowl Raceway and it offers a little something for everyone. Placerville Speedway announces action packed 24 event schedule for 2008 season

PLACERVILLE, CA – The official 2008 racing schedule for Placerville Speedway has been released and will feature an action packed season of 24 total events spanning the months of March and October. Placerville Speedway features the excitement of open wheel and stock car racing on a tight quarter mile dirt oval located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. This season the facility enters its 43rd year of operation and its 25th consecutive season under the successful management of John Padjen Motorsports.

The 2008 racing season will open on Saturday, March 15th with the competitive Hoosier Racing Tires California Sprint Car Civil War Race Series. This event will be the series opener for the traveling campaign of 360 sprint cars that competes in 15 total events at six different California race tracks. This year Placerville Speedway will host a total of four Civil War events.

Following the opener the series will return on Saturday, May 3 for the event that recognizes one the tracks great pioneers with the annual “Tribute to Al Hinds” event that features inflated winnings in honor of the late lifelong track supporter. The winged warriors will return for their third visits on August 2 and will wrap up the series campaign on September 27.

The Golden State Challenge “King of California” Series for 410 cubic inch powered sprint cars will make two visits in 2008. The series will make its first appearance on March 22nd and will return for its second visit on May 31.

On Saturday March 29 the Hoosier Racing Tires, Coors Light, Coca Cola championship racing season will begin. This series will host three weekly divisions and a special guest division each week. The 360 cubic inch powered sprint cars will headline the weekly campaign along with the fire breathing late model style Pro Stocks and the locally populated and always exciting Pure Stock division. The Sprint Cars will compete in a total 14 races for the championship series. The Pro Stocks will race in 16 events while the Pure Stocks will run a 17 race series.

Four different venues will share the spotlight in the guest division category this season. The colorful coupes of the Nor Cal Dwarf Cars are schedules for eight visits throughout the year. This division is one of the most popular visiting divisions annually at Placerville, entertaining the most serious of race fans as well as delighting families and children with their colorful high speed antics.

The Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Spec Sprint Cars are slated for six total visits this season. Now one of California’s most popular open wheel racing divisions, the wingless sprints will compete in a twin track championship once again this year, accumulating points for a season title between Placerville and Silver Dollar Speedway throughout the year.

The Bay Cities Racing Association will be a a big part of the season to come. The chain driven Midget Lites will make eight total appearances throughout the year competing both winged and wingless. The four cylinder powered traditional wingless midgets will bring their “on the dge of your seats” program here a total of four different times during the year.

Special events to mark on your racing calendar during the year will include the annual Independence Day Spectacular on Friday July 4th when auto racing and a pyrotechnics display come together to celebrate the holiday. The third annual Mark Forni Memorial event is slated for July 12 this season. Once big weekend that’s fun for the whole family will begin on Saturday August 16th with “Kids Night” followed by the annual Placerville Police Officers Association Hangtown Destruction Derby the following Sunday, August 17th.

John Padjen Motorsports Unveils 2008 Racing Schedule at Silver Dollar Speedway

CHICO, CA (12-17-07) - The 2008 racing season at Silver Dollar Speedway will feature 39 events beginning with the annual two-night race called the Mini Gold Cup on March 7 and 8. This year will mark the 22nd year this event will kick off racing at John Padjen's quarter-mile clay oval speedway in Chico. The race is also the first point race for the King of California Golden State Series. Four more King of California races will be spread throughout the year at Chico. The series returns on May 17 with the high paying Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial. July will be a big Golden State Series month at Chico with three dates with the first being on July 12. The series concludes on July 25 and 26 at the same place it's season got underway.

The highlight of every year at Silver Dollar Speedway is the Gold Cup Race of Champions featuring the traveling World of Outlaws. The Gold Cup takes place this year September 4, 5, 6. The winner will still receive a staggering $50,000 pay day on Saturday night. However, this year the second place finisher on Saturday night's prize money will be bumped up to $20,000. This year's race is the 55th edition of the historic short track event. The race is considered one of the top four races during the long World of Outlaw season.

The Friday night Feather Falls Point Championship will feature 21 races beginning in late March and ending in late August. Four weekly divisions will once again be featured at the speedway. The 410 winged sprint cars, wingless sprints, dirt modifieds and pure stocks all have ample amount of nights to showcase their racing talents.

The California Civil War Series returns to Silver Dollar Speedway three times this season. The traveling 360 winged division is scheduled to race on May 25, July 18 and September 3. The September 3 race is called the Pacific Sprint Cup and offers a $3,000 payday and features the top 32 in points.

The 17th Annual Pacific Sprint Fall Nationals will fall on October 2, 3, and 4. The race started as a two day event but with record car counts in the beginning the event quickly was moved to a three day affair. This race features many of the best 360 drivers in America.

The 4th Annual Wingless Sprint Nationals will conclude the 2008 season. Those dates are October 10 and 11. The Wingless sprints also have an invitational race on September 3 with the Civil War cars.

Other special attractions include the Silver Cup Race on March 21 and 22. The traveling Dwarf cars have four dates at Chico this year. On Monday, May 26, the 200-lap Enduro takes pace on the final day of the Silver Dollar Fair. Play day will take place on March 16 and is open to all divisions.

The Annual Belleville Midget Nationals will be Friday and Saturday, August 1st and 2nd. This annual event concludes on the last two nights of the North Central Kansas Free Fair, holding with tradition.

The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions will be the night before the prestigious Midget Nationals, July 31st. The All Stars “Thunder through the Plains” Tour returns after a 10-year absence which should bring some of the top sprint car drivers in the Country.

The World of Outlaw Late Models will make their return to the High Banks Sunday, July 20th after a very successful race last year. The WoO Late Model race will be part of the “Wild West Tour’ which will consist of at least 8 events paying $10,000 to win and will travel through six states and Canada from July 9th thru the 21st.

The Season gets underway Sunday night June 15th, with the O’Reilly NCRA 360 Sprints. Next up on the schedule is a rare Friday night race on July 4th, with the O’Reilly NCRA Late Models and Modifieds. A traditional fireworks show is expected on this evening.

The Season ends with the traditional Labor Day weekend race on Sunday, August 31st, when the O’Reilly NCRA Late Models and Modifieds once again round out the High Banks racing season.

2008 American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Canyon Region Schedule

2008 IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY OVAL TRACK SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

July 4th NASCAR Camping World Series West Race and Fireworks Show, Drifting, Figure 8 World Championship, Turkey Night Grand Prix and SRL Tour Series among schedule highlights.

IRWINDALE, Calif. (December 21, 2007) – Irwindale Speedway’s 10th season of oval track racing will commence on March 22 with a diverse lineup of activities that includes thirty Whelen All-American NASCAR Weekly Racing Series events. The schedule is tentative as additional major events will be added and announced at a later date. It features sanctioned events by NASCAR, D1 Grand Prix, Formula Drift, USAC and the SRL.

The Speedway’s NASCAR racing series kicks off the season on Saturday, March 22 featuring sixteen racing divisions. The schedule is highlighted by two NASCAR Camping World West Series (formerly NASCAR Grand National Division) events including a special 4th of July (Friday) event featuring a 200-lap race, an Auto Club Late Model 100-lap race followed by a spectacular fireworks show. A second NASCAR Camping World Series event is scheduled on August 16.

The Flashco SRL Southwest Tour, a racing series comprised of former NASCAR Elite Division Touring cars will make its debut at Irwindale Speedway on April 26 featuring a 100-lap race

On November 15, the Speedway will host its Figure 8 World Championships which attracts many of figure 8 racing’s top national Outlaw Figure 8 racers who will compete in a one-hour race. The event includes a Demolition Derby, Super Truck open race and some surprises.

Competitors who compete in the popular sport of Drifting identify Irwindale Speedway as the “House of Drift”. The facility will live up to that moniker by hosting three events in 2008. The D1 Grand Prix will conduct two events at the Speedway including its November 22-23 Japan series season finale and World Championship match. The date for a second D1GP event will be announced in the near future.

Formula Drift will hold its Championship Finale at the Speedway with the date of the event to be announced upon finalization of its 2008 schedule.

USAC’s Sprint and Midget cars and the Ford Focus Midget series will provide an entertaining night of racing during the 68th Running of the Turkey Night Grand Prix. The event is expected to attract a number of motor racing’s stars including those from NASCAR and USAC.
