first of all i'll take brent marks to win it. hoping we see the final chapter of macri vs. marks likely with outlaws mixed in.
any thoughts on how they might handle the weather? campers are loading in and i'll feel bad for them if they don't see any racing. this is where i'd love to see williams grove show some flexibility. their best shot for any racing seems to be tomorrow night although the timeline for rain seems to keep moving earlier. would they be able to run for the full purse friday night? the web site just says sunday is a rain date if friday and saturday are rained out. monday could be a possibility especially since they're back at port next weekend. they rained out in 2016 and moved it back 2 weeks...but there is a race already scheduled elsewhere that weekend.
i just hope for the sake of the fans they give some kind of indication about how things may play out...and what contingency plans might be. i've said before i wouldn't travel from out of the area for a race at the grove. eldora works hard to get things in and adjusts schedules like running 2 races in run day.

I agree 100%. I would like to know what to expect in terms of the racing schedule so that I can plan my own. I'm sure they have an idea of how they will proceed based on local weather forecasts for the weekend. Given the poor efforts of WG this year to try and get races in, I would try and stay ahead of this.

Working hard to get it in isn't likely going to mean dick this weekend. If you've been following the weather you would know that Saturday is a wash. So is Sunday. You can try all you want but if it wont quit raining long enough to run the track in you can't race it. Monday onwards look like decent days, but everybody will be back at work then. This is the problem with holding this event so late in the year.

Yes, like anyone can control the weather. Hurricane season starts in June and runs through November. I don't care what time of the year it is you can get multiple days of rain and it doesn't have to be a hurricane to provide said rain. I am upset too.....because I am really looking forward to seeing all the great drivers in one place. I guess one night this weekend will have to be enough.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

This is my last race weekend of the year and since it is the biggest race in PA each year, I will try to make it if the reschedule it. There are no other shows in PA that I would want to go to after the Natty Open.
I can't wait to see Larson at the Grove tonight!
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Normally I'd say that's silly to run a big race on a Sunday night, but the next day is a holiday...

Other than government employees, I don't think many people get off for Columbus day. A Sunday would be the best option for a make up date, maybe this Sunday if the weather is out of the area by then.

why is it gonna snow you need to know the history since this outdated website wont allow copy, paste google national open winners from 1963 the 1st 10 or 15 yrs where ran at the end of october it was ran then so after all other track points seasons where over the best could show up at williams grove for the big one with no conflicts the outlaws didnt exist

Not only do they allow copy & paste, but they also allow commas & periods....
