I cant be the only one that's wondering how in the world this goofball still has this job. Even aside from the 17 car incident in the work area a few weeks ago, this guy seems out of line driving that damn thing. He drives it around like a raped ape going pedal to the floor constantly. Thats probably how he ended up on his side this summer also. I wonder if the drivers and crew members care how hard he rams into the backs of the cars seemingly every time he goes to push someone off. Maybe its because there is no way I would drive that thing that way, but it seems like they could find someone else that has a little more care and respect for the teams equipment to do that job.

He's Ted Johnson's grandson is why he's still around.

I presume this is some sort of inside joke and I don't know the context. I've got to admit though, it made me laugh.

Why is that a factor? Was there something writtin into the contract when Ted sold that said his grandson would always have a job and would be untouchable? Ted's been gone nearly 2 decades. Does he still hold this much sway?

After he runs Sheldon into the wall, one of Schatz' crew guys must've been been giving him shit about the way he was driving. He yelled the above quote right before he grabbed ahold of the guy.

This is an excellent question. I hope this isn't truly the case. If my grandfather were the founder of the Outlaws, he would have fired me on the spot the second I did something that wasn't up to his standards. How does a grandson get special treatment from a grandparent 16 years after his death?

I think there's one branch of the family tree that was skipped. Ted's son-in-law is Carlton Reimers, the Series Director. I think the side by side driver is Carlton's son.

As the great bowling icon Peter Webber once said......"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, I AM!!!"

Thank you. That makes a little more sense.

In the heat of the moment, taking on a pit crew member must be a lot like getting between a mama bear and her cub.

I get the part on who he is but the part that I question is about his reckless style out there on that thing. I would guess it is only a matter of time until another episode happens. I can't imagine the car owners/drivers/teams can appreciate how he treats their equipment.
