I imagine the week off is to give the workers a break. I really don't care if Hahn makes a million or ten million. The CB was there before Bell, Larson, Stewart and will be after they're gone, They could work with him, do something to make it bigger whatever. I just thought it petty to go to the press.
It will still be a great show with 300 and not 350 if that's what they're going to do. Before there was a Mr. Turkey Night, There was a Turkey night for decades. I take away from no racers talent, But without the events to win. They're is no recognition.
Remember that Gateway Invitational that paid 20k for midgets. Gone in two years.......

Are we talking the Gateway Dirt Nationals? Because it's definitely still a thing, and to boot, finds a way to pay $56K in A feature winnings between two classes over the week with a much smaller car count and fewer days. Midgets are gone - not sure of the reason, but they find a way to pay decently. I don't know what the crowd for that is - I know the Dome seats a ton more than the Expo, but they don't open the full thing for seating and I don't know how well it sells. Feel like I've seen pics that indicate it's not a sellout but it's just hard to quantify that.
CB will be fine in the interim if Larson/Bell don't show up, but this could easily be the start of a chain reaction.

MIDGETS are not part of Gateway anymore. Despite a nice payout. Read into it what you want, But Chili Bowl is established and a coveted crown jewel event.

I would love to know the expense involved with just tearing the stands down from whereever they're normally used, hauling them over to the Expo Center and setting them up. Then of course it has to be done again when it's over. The there's the dirt work and fencing, etc.

They had a bobcat to cleanup from the GA grandstand where the rowdies had a six day food fight. The trash was three feet deep.
