Got my moneys worth with the finish for $100K. With rubber coming in on the bottom Sheldon does what he does best and made the top work. The first 25+ laps the track was so good low that when leaders caught lapped traffic they couldnt pass. Then after Tatnells nasty crash and the door incident things got racy.Hats off to officials who stuck to the rules and docked Gravel 2 spots and sent Domer to pits. With the storm damage and saving the track from Chucks destuction Todd has showed what a true owner that actually cares about racing can accomplish1

Best finish I've ever seen
For those of you who live around there or who have been going to Husets, thinking about going next year.
What's there to do during the day? What could I put on back end or front end for vacation?

As with any new event they have a few things to tweak before next year but I think it's a huge success that can only get better. Probably no way I'll ever talk my better half into a four day racing vacation in South Dakota but I might be able to get down there for one night next year. Husets has always been an awesome little track that was mostly an unknown around the country. They never had camping in the past and that is necessary for multi day shows. They added a campground as one of their first tasks and that takes things up a notch.
Seeing as they never had multi day shows I'm sure they learned some things about how the track holds up for four nights and what to do to bring it back around. I was a bit concerned when they didn't run it in much but it came around. The only negative is that one of our Forest Lake residents took a wild ride. Brooke got out of the car but I'm sure he's hurting today. Wrecks are always bad but when it's somebody you know that you run into around town it gets real. Aside from that the gate needs welding but the Saturday crowd looked great. South Dakota has a population of under 900,000 for the entire state so it's good to see the big Saturday crowd.

Sioux Falls has a bunch of stuff to do. There are a few state parks nearby if you want to go hiking. Several golf courses nearby, frisbee golf, trap shooting. Lake okoboji or lake Madison if you want to get on the water.

They should pay Sheldon double the appearance money of the other teams. Most nights he is the show.

Fighting back from adversity two straight nights. Then on Saturday night racing like a driver going for broke. That was a great feature. Great track for the feature as well!! It changed a lot during that feature.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

There's a pretty good discussion about alternative things to do on the other Husets thread. Autimania (car show yesterday) had over 250 cars 7 miles east of Husets.

Logan did the same thing as Dobmier though. He was involved and drove backwards down the pits right to the work area.
I'm glad for the track that Huad and all the pace laps after that red flag saved what was a pretty uneventful race up to that point. I have faith in that group to learn and improve unlike a lot of other tracks.

Why was Gravel penalized?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

When the open red ended, a crew member still had a hand on the car. They docked him two spots.
Thanx,
