The one and only Davey Brown is 88 today.
88 years old and still wrenching sprint cars every week.
Been wrenching winning race cars for almost 70 years - 70 years!!!
No one can or ever will match that.
Amazing !

I would never have the balls to race a sprint car, but I'd LOVE to apprentice with a guy like Davey or any top engine or chassis builder

Davey would be your guy. No "or". He did it all. Boops car - engines by Davey Brown, chassis by Davey Brown, set-up by Davey Brown.
Kark Kinser, you say? Yeah, but he went to restoring cars in his 60's. Davey's still crawling around sprint cars at almost 90.
Paging Dave Argabright on the book.

I'd be glad to apprentice under Davey, Kinser, or any of the good crew chiefs, builders or mechanics
Doesn't have to be the very best....
I was taking guitar lessons from an INCREDIBLE guitarist (Arlen Roth) before COVID.... it was like asking Albert Einstein to teach 2nd Grade Arithmetic, very frustrating! I think I need a Remedial Education teacher on guitar...

I've always thought 2 books would be great from Argabright or whomever had the time/ability.
1) Sprint car mechanics like Karl, Davey, and others on their careers and the evolution of sprint cars
2) Somewhat related but a book on the beginnings of the WoO, with an emphasis on how the big 3 became the Big 3. I know he's done a Wolfgang book but would be interested in the perspectives of the other 2 plus Scruffy, Doty, Shuman, Ferkel etc... on the early days of the WoO.
