So how bad is this going to become?
All Stars)In response to the concern for limited right rear tire supply resulting in the potential for a very low car count, Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 and Bedford Speedway officials have made the mutual decision to postpone the Bedford Speedway event scheduled for Thursday, April 28, until a date later in the year that has yet to be determined

A trade off to allow Bristol to run?
I tell it like I see it.

Rumor going around Fremont last night is the All Stars might also cancel the show at Waynesfield on May 1 also due to tire shortages

I know offset is part if the set up but what if.......
You cant get a big RR so you go with less offset and use the biggest late model tire and adjust accordingly.
My thought is if you want to race and your lively hood depends on it I would rather adjust to other tires than bot race at all.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

So.................suggesting other tracks/series are cancelling races to aid another series? That makes no sense at all unless you can ellaborate...................

we run American racers on our NE modified. for weeks we've been limited to 1rr 1 lr a week. big teams are getting special treatment for more tires. 1 team we know who has ties to the track last week bought 10 each of lr/rr tires.
for American racer their problem was the availability of nylon for the belts. supposedly they got a big shipment last week and should start pumping out tires next week and will take several weeks to get the supply back up

Waynesfield would not be the one to cancel, Sharon is the one that eats tires, plus Waynesfield is always a better race.

This.
Waynesfield always draws a good crowd for their All Star shows, and always has good car counts - and great racing. Bedford, I understand. I'd be really suprised if they cancelled Waynesfied for anything other than weather.

Sharon's red clau surface absolutely does not eat tires. It's slick, but drivers rave about how easy the track is on tires, its not abrasive at all. As for quality of race, I think Waynesfield gets wildly overrated for quality of racing.

Brent Marks suggested harder compound. He said he is spending twice as much on tires as motors and they are junk; out of round, cambered and change several inches.

What is different with silver cup tires? They last 100 laps.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

$300 for a tire that lasts 10 minutes is ludicrous.
A lot goes into making a tire.

You can't trust Chinese.
defenceconnect.com.poorly-made-chinese-tires-slow-Russian-advance
You can't trust South America, Good Year tried.
Maybe South Korea (Hankook and Kumho both are eyeing F1) but they won't be any cheaper because of shipping.
American made is what we all want.
Unhooking them with harder tires that last several races as Brent Marks suggests is the $50,000 solution.
Instead of continuing to pussyfoot around with track record spec tires like they have been the past 20 years.

We've discussed a harder tire for decades on this site it just doesn't seem to be catching on in many areas, maybe now people will take another look. I've seen enough track records with locked down cars. I'd like a hard tire rule just to see who can really wheel a car.

Put your allsomeness aside and watch the interview. Yeah Post looks different, I got a chuckle out of the Dr. It. comment but he reminded me of Buffalo Bill from silence of the lambs. Actually I'm jealous of Steve because I am follicully challenged, I wish I could grow a mop like that.

Hey. That is Pa.'s former good looking Surgen General who made the big time in Washington that you are making fun of. I think Joe just picked for her good looks. He thought we need to get that down here closer for us guys in Washinton to look at.

Bingo! I remember LD advocated for a smaller, harder RR tire years ago. The problem is whenever it's tried, everyone bitches. Too many just want to stomp and steer. Most teams and drivers don't like having to get adjusted to a different tire. Remember Goodyear? Everyone hated that tire with the exception of a few.
