Track started to widen out by the B and both the B and A mains were pretty good.

Very, very good track for a windy daytime race. Once again, Lincoln proves to have the best track prep in central PA! Congrats to Freddy and the whole Eichelberger race team. Really looked great right out of the gate.

To be honest, I'm quite jealous. Our season starts with the traditional first rain-out on Mother's Day.

Winged strawser you gotta be kidding. I give them all the credit in that they kept watering the top and by feature time it did become a better surface. But, the heat races were all about were you started.

They did a good job bringing track around for B and A mains. But be honest almost any week at any track the heats are about where you start. I am in favor of 12 lap heats and 15 lap B if more then 10 cars. Hard to go from 10 or worse in less then 2 1/2 minutes.

A) Great crowd! Looked pretty cold with all that wind
B) Kofoid mjust be getting serious about racing a wing car.... long way from California, guess he stayed after Florida races
C) Macri was pretty funny talking about "Issues" with Dietrich. He's usually kind of stiff in interviews, seemed like he was enjoying potential feud...

I saw where Rahmer started 6th in his heat and won it.
I wonder how much the drivers and owners make for the heats? Saturday was nothing. Nobody pays to see the heats nor cares about the heats. Everyone cares about the feature.

Heat races are not good anywhere anymore. For good heat racing, they need to go back to handicapping for the heats as well. Most of the time, drawing for starting positions is just luck. This is one reason why the feature races at Lincoln and WG are better than most is because the use handicapping for the features most all of the time.

Not to the Port faithful. The heat races at the Port are magical......
No one cares about the heats. I bet you can't remember how many heats someone won last year. But, I bet you could easly remember or find out how many features they won.

Yes, like I said the Port o Potty faithfuls! Heats don't earn the drivers or the owners any money.
Only the Features do.

That's where you'd be wrong. I know exactly how many heat races and how many feature races you won last year-zero.*
For the betterment of the sport, how would you do it differently?
* By some odd coincidence, that's the same number of wins that Winged Speed had last year.

I never said don't run heats. I said they don't mean anything. Drivers and owners don't get a dime for winning a heat.
Heats are just there to line you up for what everyone came to see.....the feature.
For the feature....it doesn't matter where you start....it matters where you finish.

You know who has some good heat race action? Port Royal.
I know this is a Lincoln thread but I just don't think Port gets brought up enough around here.

OK. Maybe it's different on your planet, but for most races, the heat race affect where a racer starts in the feature race. If a driver doesn't think the heat races matter, I guess he could just scratch from the heat and opt to start dead last, since it doesn't matter where you start.

They don't mean a thing. Sorry to dissapoint you. If they did you would see more drivers taking chances during the heats.
They don't because once locked into the feature. The don't race as hard.
Only a couple times a year do they race hard in the heats - the Kings Royal and The Nationals. I am talking really, really hard.
This is due the the formats we have. The outlaws have the worst format in sprintcar racing.
Local tracks draw for starting positions in the heat, once they get qualified they stop racing hard.

You are everything that's wrong with this world now days. You can't have a discussion, or a diffrent opinion. If you do your wrong, stupid, or something else.
You mimic the party in charge right now, just a spoiled, childish brat that always has to be right or they throw a tantrum.
I've been going to Husets, Jackson, and Knoxville since '83, and i like a good heat race now and then
