Are the sprint cars racing tonite at Volusia, or is it just practice & qualifying?

Time Trials start around 5:15 apparently. Heats around 6.

I think Schatz is one of the only guys who could have driven back by Larson the way he did. Most guys are toast when Larson slides them because he scrubs off so little speed when doing so. Great start to the year especially given the track conditions.

Track was horrible last night but mostly because of the rain days earlier..Was probably prepped but the extra water didn't help from the rains..Hope its better for tonight..Good repass by Schatz on Larson..Good win for Donny Schatz, good N.D. boy..

The track was a bit wet last night! Sweet had to pull in under caution to pull out big mud like this as well.

From IOW: "Problem is they brought in new clay, laid it on top of the old dirt, didn't attempt to work the material together. Throw in the tons of rain we've had here the last month or so and it's just a mess. They cancelled the Sunshine Nationals earlier this year for the same reason. WRG needs to do better for the fans"

You done yet...?? Only three posts, gettin soft are ya..lol. I only watched a youtube clip but the track looked good enough for me, not every driver can cowboy up when the time arrives, and it is tough on equipment as well if not prepared for that kind of track.

Ran our 'taxi cab' down there a few weeks ago...they had to call the races because track a was unfit. The new clay is really causing an issue, hopefully they can get it together soon. The chunks flying into the stands are one of the bigger concerns, not just the driver safety side....Maybe not such a good plan to put 300 loads of clay down a week before the biggest month of racing you have...

Would bet he's still lurking out there. Personally I think the dude was a little over obsessed with the Ford thing, and the Ford hasn't exactly dominated the sport since it showed up. If it had then I'm sure we'd have seen a comeback from Minthess.

OK, there was some good passing in the back....
This is one of the many reasons live is so much better than PPV: You can watch those battles live. On PPV you have to watch what the cameraman picks....we missed all of that on DV

Maybe Gravel is a good guy but comes off being arrogant and too full of himself..I never pulled for Schatz although he is from Fargo N.D.(Minot area)..But now he runs something different and pulled for him last year and will this year too..He's a good shit to boot...Not too full of himself like some of the others are..He's hard working in the family business and is working hard..Good luck to him this year..

I stumbled on to gravels YouTube channel a few years back and have kind of turned into a fan because of that. Plus he doesn't seem like a jackass and runs clean. I never thought he comes off as arrogant.
