"During the inaugural campaign, several events for both Series will be held in conjunction with an already established World of Outlaws Sprint Car or Late Model race. For example, the Xtreme Outlaw Midgets will be added to the already prestigious Ironman 55 at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Aug. 5-6 in Pevely, MO."
This sounds great.

This may explain why USAC sprints are not on the Knoxville schedule this year.

Do you really think the WoO are just trying to be good stewards to traditional sprint car racing? If I'm USAC, and shaking in my little boots and my butthole would be fully puckered. They had a good run. 1956-20??

At first it struck me as an all out attack on USAC, but the press release says this: "Working in conjunction with POWRi and USAC to the extent possible"
So will USAC let its teams run with this sanction??? Will there be competing dates? Where will the cars come from???
VERY interesting development, & a shocker for me.
No POWRI at Ironman? That's one on my bucket list that may never happen...
We'll see...

Maybe WRG wants to grow and a impending sale is in the future. You think about it what does USAC have left ? There top tier drivers are moving over to the all stars for more money. USAC is only a small fraction of what the organization used to be.

As a dyed in the wool wingless 410 sprint car and midget fan I am moderately excited regarding the new WoO's divisions. We have a few questions and reservations but that's true of all things unknown. I'm nothing more than a fan and I have no inside info nor do I care all that much about the stuff that goes on behind the scenes but if this can expose the high quality of 410 sprint car racing without wings and the midgets to more potential fans then I'm for it 100%. With that said even an outsider like myself can see the potential for irreparable harm to USAC. Hopefully everyone involved will work together and coexist and cooperate with each other for the health & benefit of the two divisions.

If everyone plays nice this will be a hell of a good deal for everyone if USAC and Powri raise their payout if everyone cooperate on schedules and maybe co-sanction races this could be the best summer ever for Midgets and non-wing sprint cars but if someone gets a feather up their ass and decides not to get along and split cars up I will just stay home and I'm sure a lot of other people will to REMEMBER RACE FANS YOU CAN KEEP THE SANCTIONING BODIE IN LINE IF ONE DOESN'T COOPERATE WITH THE OTHER DON'T SUPPORT THEM IF EVERYONE WORKS TOGETHER WE ALL WIN Glen Murra

More content for DirtVision and rather than try to outbid Flo for Usac coverage, they can have a series in house that could grow to become bigger than USAC.
Selfishly because I love Knoxville week, it would be cool to have non winged sprints back at Oskaloosa on Tuesday. Also I've always thought Eldora could expand Kings Royal week by making the weekend before a big non-winged sprint show before the Doty. It won't work this year because Husets is that weekend but it would be cool down the road if that happened.

It will be interesting to see what other tracks are on both series schedules besides Volusia & I-55.

The people that will suffer from low fan attendance is the promotors. Remember the sanctioning bodies already have there money before the gates are opened. Fans don't show, promotors won't want your series back, then the racer suffers.

Sure. And if no one buys gas this week, Exxon Mobile will be broke by the weekend. They'll be begging you to buy gas at $1.99.

LM racing has 2 national series paying minimum 10k to win purses along with a zillion higher paying events. The competition between the Lucas and WoO series has made both step their purses/game up which has a downstream positive effect. In the sprint world it's one national series and one large regional series with the WoO clearly a step up. Sprint car racing would benefit from another national series, whether it be the ASCoC going full fledge national or some kind of start up. Maybe Lucas Oil decides to get into the sprint game. Not a knock on the WoO either as I personally very much enjoy the WoO product but think competition could be a huge boon to sprint car racing.

Uh everything to do with a sprint series? Outlaw base purse is 10k to win, 1k to start and totals 55,800. All-star base purse is 6k to win, 550 to start and totals 28,175....just barely half the outlaw base. The outlaw point fund is a million dollars with 200k for the champion, the ASCoC point fund is 345k total and 80k to win. The outlaws schedule has over 80 dates, the ascoc has 56. And let's be real, if you had to rank the top 10 sprint drivers in the world, how many ASCoC drivers are making it? Maybe 1 while that list would be full of outlaw drivers. I'm a big all-star fan, but it's not even a discussion, the outlaws are clearly a step up, which is why drivers when successful at the all-star level move to the outlaws, not vice versa
