You gotta pay to have them come in. Tomson's hired a new GM last year. Who knows ? The Lucas signing got everyone excited but since then that really is not a fan friendly schedule. Maybe they can get a BB mod date ? They need to do something ! Let's all hope it's not another take over by that crate association.

Maybe/Hopefully they'll lead the western PA sprint car resergence, W PS Speedweek, etc.? Lets hope they don't fall off the sprint car schedules all around.

I was surprised to see that Port Royal took the July date and Sharon took September. No Don Martin Memorial? I have attended 6 WOO sprint car shows since 2017 and all six seemed to have large enough crowds to make a decent return for the track.

Lernerville's GM did an interview last week. Said that the All-Stars for sure will be there, likely twice, just getting the dates nailed down. Also said there will be a Silver Cup, with a purse similar to what it has been (he did not mention whether this would be sanctioned or not) and also said there will be a big race in September with a purse similar to the Commenwealth Clash (so a typical outlaw show).

Them losing the September date to Sharon was not a surprise at all and had nothing to do with the crowds and everything to do with Lernerville dropping the WoO lates for Lucas oil for the firecracker (While Sharon on the other hand has given up their Lucas date and have 3 WoO late races next year).
The WoO dropping the silver cup was a mild surprise, I figured that show would stick since it's been so ingrained on the WoO schedule. We'll see if that Port Royal race has an increased purse to match what the silver cup was paying out.

Looking at the ASCOC schedule I'd say these are potential Lernerville dates:
Friday 4/29- This had been Lernervilles only ASCOC date the last handful of years. The series is at Sharon the next night so makes sense.
Friday 6/3- Weekend before speedweeks, series is at Atomic the night after for a big race (going off last year this would be the weekend of WPA speedweek so a conflict there).
Friday 7/1 or sat 7/2- ASCoC are off this entire weekend.
9/30 or 10/1- If Lernerville wants their big fall race to be ASCoC sanctioned this would have to be it.

A similar purse ? Why not pay a really good purse in hopes of luring some of the central pa guys ? The all stars do put on a good show, but no matter how you cut it there not the woo. Lernerville, you screwed the fans on this one.

A 25k to win, 85k overall purse isn't a good purse?

Not when it was $30k to win 15 years ago.
Race should pay $50k to win by now given the crowd they get.

Hasn't also been about $2500-$3000 to start historically as well. Can't really argue with that especially when it has typically been a midweek show. I have always enjoyed the Silver Cup and have made the drive out from Columbus a handful of times for that race, plus Lernerville typically puts on a good show. While it is sad that they do not have any firm dates, selfishly I am glad Sharon got more dates between the Outlaws and All Stars since it is a little bit closer of a drive and puts on just as good of a show.

What it used to be is irrelevant on the question of whether it's a good purse. In the grand scheme of sprint car racing. it IS still a good purse, especially for a stand alone race that occurs on a Tuesday night. How many races in Central PA pay a bigger purse? 2 is what I can come up with, the National Open and Tuscarora 50. Weikert memorial possibly but I can only find the winners share for that race. So the comment was, why not pay a good purse to get central Pa cars- well the purse is better than all but 2 maybe 3 central pa races. The reality is the central PA cars don't show up to the Silver Cup because it's a Tuesday night, a long tow, and before this year an outlaw show at a track they don't normally run so will be tough to get a good finish. This year might get a few more thinking they could get the win, but I don't see where a ton of central pa cars show up- if it's during the week same issue with travel, if it's moved to the weekend you'll have to compete with the other PA tracks that are running and guys running for points.

Not that I can find. When it was 30k to win in the mid 2000s it was 1000 to start.

The Summer Nationals pay a total a main purse of $82k vs Lernervilles $79k, so that's 3 races without doing a lot of research. Nationally what was once a borderline crown jewel is now a race that barely makes a blip.

how many here were at the Outlaw race years ago when Don came on the front straight during the intermission and proudly announced the Silver Cup race would pay 25 grand on Lernervilles 25th anniversary..
then it would go up a grand a year!
that was in 1992
now look at it.

Lernerville has always had the problem of pulling central pa cars. You may see rahmer, but I do doubt it, DD may make the tow, Randy Wolfe is a possibility. Mark Smith doubtful, Wagners, the 69k never going to happen. So for a less of a purse, it's not going to work.

Unfortunately we're how many track manager's and owners since Don Martin's passing? The place still has healthier car and fan counts than any track in the region.

One of the things that frustrates me about Lernerville is it seems to have so much potential and yet seems to be run by people who can't make it in to something more. It's got a ton of cars in its vicinity and has a good population base to draw from compared to most tracks. And it's got history. And yet it's kind of mediocre and not nearly what it used to be since the Don Martin days.
