Can't believe I'm starting this thread three days later.

Other than a few comments in the beat to death "Water Truck" thread, there's nuthin

Good race? Sounds like if Lance could see, he'd have #8.  You know I'm a 69K fan but I'm a bigger fan of my homies takin the top five spots - and Logan stayed close all night - he's earned it

Reutzel and DD had weekends to forget

People don't come to the board to talk races usually, mostly to complain or make fun of WingedStrawser.

Ports success continues to amaze me. That crowd was like the National Open, and the crowd got what they came for, the Posse winning a lot of money. I'm glad someone new won, Wagner won more money Saturday night than he had all year.

Tusky 50 is usually more fun than National Open last few years

Better vibe, plus lots of different guys can win. Posse vs. Outlaws is no longer the rivalry it once was

I am just happy that you called it the Tuscarora 50. I hate to tell the so called cool people (including one announcer) That local people don't have the Tusky Mountain or the Tusky creek or the Tusky Valley or Tusky Valley High School or the Tusky Valley Elementary School. The Valley was not inhabited by the Tusky Indians either. All these things are or were  Tuscarora.

totally agree.  just like calling it the "natty".  are we that lazy...or still working hard to be the cool guy thinking using some sort of nickname makes somebody cool?

i usually don't like conversations about somebody's reputation or legacy.  logan wagner won more sprint car races than i'll ever win when he went to victory lane the first time.  i wouldn't put him into the same category as guys like dewease and dietrich as the best in pa since he really struggles away from port...and hadn't even won the biggest race at port.  track championships don't seem to mean much these days especially with teams bouncing around to different tracks.

it changes things a bit for me now that he's won the tuscarora 50.  he beat the best in the closing laps too...even if dewease did have issues.  wagner still ran a great race from start to finish and beat dewease at his own game by taking advantage of lapped traffic.

I guess I better check my stuff.  Is it okay to call Port Royal Speedway "the Port" or call Williams Grove Speedway "the Grove" ? I'm sure none of you tradionalists never used an abbreviation or acronym in your life . Such hypocrites.

Be thankful its called anything.  Im sure somebody will get trigged by some aspect of the name and ask it to be changed.

It was fantastic to see a local win. Chances of you seeing racing like that at the grove will be slim. The locals look good heat racing but as soon as the track starts to slick off there's 2 guys that can keep up with the outlaws. Dewease and Marks, that's about it.

Just curious what do Tickets and food and drinks cost our there at Port Royal for these special events.  The crowds are so awesome.  Husets been closed a while but seems like we have a lot of Special shows and they all cost lots of money and food is expensive.  So just wondering if it is cost for us at Husets or not enough promotion or just not enough race fans any more.  I know alot of people watch flo and dirtvision and since our track was closed for 2 years maybe people are just staying home and watching it on there.   The crowds in PA are awesome and just would love to see that at Husets more often.  Just seems like it is 25 or 40 bucks for almost all the races because there some sort of special event.  Sorry for the long post.

It's Juniata County Fair week at the Port, so food choices are numerous, and excellent, especially the full dinners served at the Port Royal Lutheran Church stand! Prices are reasonable, too....I believe the regular track concession stands are still the same prices, too.

When in doubt, gas it!!

Yes, I am a firm believer in traditions that don't harm anyone. I don't think that makes me a hypocrite. What would make me a hypocrite would to say what I posted and then show up in your home town and tell the locals what they should call things because I am too lazy to pronounce a couple of syllables. That is my opinion and you have yours. I just complimented the original poster and explained why. I am sure many don't know where the name came from.

My first year at the rora was in '89 (yes I had some older friends call it that). Yepper remember the ole wooden grandstands. Now people say are you goin to the 50, I'd be willing to bet some of the longtime locals call it the Tusky 50 or the 50. I like traditions also but we just can't have everything we want these days.

Agreed. IMO the 50 has become the premier sprint car event in PA. The National Open is a glorified outlaw show. The racing is also much better at Port.

The racing at Lincoln is the best in central PA.  Nothing compares.  Drivers go to Lincoln and racers go to the the other tracks.  And no that is not a slam on anyone.

Not sure what happened those last few laps to cause Lance to fall off. As you mentioned maybe vision became a real problem. Maybe the car started to go away?  Maybe the motor was starting to sour (Donnie posted on Twitter it only had 3 quarts of oil left in it).  Who knows and it doesn't matter. Logan put himself in a spot to win and that was his and his crew's night.

You just can't,  O wait, yes you can. Be serious whatsoever. The majority of the shows at port royal this year have been assume. Lincoln has been so wet to the point they can't even get the track widened out for good racing. The heats have been follow the leader nothing more.

Engine was spewing oil all over the car & Lance. I'm surprised it made it as far as it did

I don't go for the heats.  No one remembers who won the heats.  I go for the feature and I would rather have a good feature than good heats any day of the week.
