Post is spot on, but is it necessary? Commenting about the track being great because it rained will only start at mile long thread about the track being hard, black asphalt surface. This will be a battle with name calling by we all know who. This is the kind of post that gives the forum a bad name. We know certain people dislike Port, some dislike Lincoln, Williams Grove. Baps, Trailway.etc. But you do realize that within a 2 hr drive we have 5 tracks to see sprint car racing, plus a bit more time you have Bedford, and now Bloomsburg. So we have a boatload of tracks to enjoy. Some days the tracks miss the prep (they all do), some nights are fantastic. So lets not feed the dual idenity hater and just enjoy our lives here in Central PA. Because we could live in Idaho!!

I give the track surface a compliment and you still want to tear me up. Just saying what water will do for a track surface. Something they should have learned a long time ago. One of the top 3 races there all year.

It widened out a lot more than I thought it would but I'd still rather have a drivers track with the cushion up near the guard rail.

Agreed. I have been racing for a LONG time. The reason I like Port Royal so much is because it does get wide, slick and fast right by the guardrail. I cannot understand the negative comments. Many, many, more years for the Speed Palace.

Wasn't around, I saw the speeds. The speeds the second night are pretty good too. Hopefully, another good track tonight.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

why do people think speed equals good racing? cars need to be able to pass, not follow one another around the track as a freight train.

Fast enough is somewhere in the mid to high 15 second bracket during TT's. Then slowing down as the night goes on.
Like Danny lasoski said at Knoxville.....stop watch doesn't lie when asked if he was going to watch the track during the Nationals. Basically no need to watch anything but times. I agree!!

Wasn't tearing you up. I said i agree with what you said, but my comment was about every time someone posts about track surface at Port we get 40 comments with name calling because of a certain poster and his dislike for Port.
Due to some current health reasons i dont get to the track every week like i did for 8 yrs, i live 20 min from Lincoln so thats where I go. I feel Lincoln could learn a lot from Port as far as promoting the track, the way the drivers are treated etc. If I lived close I would be at Port. Lincoln has good racing on a smaller track, but given both shows are ASCOC races the Dirt Classic pails in comparession to the Tusky 50. Winnings have gone down since the early years, not much in way of extra sponsorship to add money to the race., Thats poor promoting. The facility needs some improvements but all and all I consider both to be top notch sprint car tracks.
