Stuffy analysis. I would expect the typical arrogant F1 fan to respond exactly like this. Because someone hasn't done it yet, they can't possibly be that good, right? Bullshit. Are we to assume Hamilton would strap into a stock car and be able to wheel it around a road course against Nascar's best? If he couldn't, no big deal right----after all, he is in the elite of F1 drivers. How about a sprint car at I-55? If he couldn't, would it not matter because he is so great at F1? What a pile of crap. Driving an F1 car is a completely different animal than any car Kyle has raced------but that doesn't mean it's the most difficult or the biggest accomplishment. Most expensive? Sure. Best judge of talent? It's possible, but we won't ever really know. I know, I know, Mario and Foyt were good at F1 AND the others. That was 40-50 years ago. Everything has changed so much.
Is Kyle among the greatest of all time? Yes. If you say otherwise, you are blind. Is Kyle THE best-----possibly. But that will always be up for debate. Simply saying F1 is the best and since he hasn't won in F1 or IndyCar he can't possibly be the best, is a bullshit theory. Let's see these F1 guys drive, and win, in the cars he is winning in. Until then, no one can tell me he isn't at least just as talented.

I'm actually a racing fan that is why I'm on Hoseheads obviously. Unlike you I generally like all racing where as you seem to think of road/f1 racing as unimportant. I'll leave this discussion here as it's unlikely to ever be resolved in any meaningful way.

I don't know enough about Formula One or any of that European stuff to say, & until the day Kyle tries it, nobody else will either.
Suffice to say he's the best American driver of The New Millenium?

"I don't know enough about Formula One or any of that European stuff to say"...
But you know who might? Ric Mandelson of EMMR, raced all that European & sports car stuff, as well as American dirt tracks (he once told me he had to put about 10 guys into the wall in Pennsyltucky to prove he wasn't a wimp!)
I wonder if Ric reads our BS here?
How do you rate Kyle, Ric?

There are only 10 different teams in F1, and the back 2/3 of the grid has not a chance in hell. Unless something really weird happens, Red Bull and Mercedes win every race because they are light years ahead of everyone else. Even the best driver is not going to F1 and outdrive superior cars.
Jimmie Johnson is a backmarker/jam car in a series where an F1 midpacker like Romain Grossjean comes over and immediately runs up front, but Larson would go to F1 and win?

All racing is important. But it's ridiculous to say being great at F1 makes you a superior driver to drivers in another form of racing. Silly. Saying that a Nascar driver is off the pace when jumping in against other road course talent only makes sense. They are stock car drivers making brief appearances out of their element. Throw the top F1 drivers in a stock car and I would not expect them to even be in the ballpark. Are there drivers in F1 with more talent than Larson? Possibly, but how the hell would be know unless the F1 drivers tried to compete in the cars Kyle races in and Kyle competes in F1? So, I'm not saying F1 is irrelavent. I'm not saying Kyle is better than drivers in F1. What I'm saying is, assuming F1 talent is the top of the top is absurd when we have no real way of proving it.

I know f1 has more $$ involved than any other form of racing but I dont care for it. If you do fine. But to say Kyle couldnt compete in f1 cause of his driving style. Senna...Schmacher? They were very aggressive. I think he would fail if he was in a crappy car. But if he was in a top car hed do well.

I don't care for F1 at all. I actually agree with everything you say 100%. Did you intend on replying to a different post?
