There were rumors out earlier this year that there may be a rule change with the ASCS series. We are in the process of ordering parts AND wings, and were wondering if any changes will be implimented for the wing rule next year? Could Lonny W. from the ASCS series give us any input on this subject?

Wing rule for 2008 will remain unchanged, same as 2007.

With all due respect to sooner, I'd contact ASCS hq and ask the question.
Sometimes stuff on these boards can be wrong, if you know what I mean.....
Just a suggestion.

Sooner7nc knows what he's talking about. He's sort of in the know. I also talked to an ASCS Sooner Regional official and they are NOT changing the wing rule because as he said, "no one else is".

so all of that testing at the Devil's Bowl this summer was for naught.
I really wish that all sprints would get rid of the wings.... but that brings up a whole new controversy... not to mention higher insurance rates....

Larry Rice of K&K Insurance said the rates for wing and
no-wing racing Were the same, because the Safety records of both types of
racing are very Similar, thanks to HANS's type devices and other
improvements. Also the speed of the cars will soon be the same if they
keep coming up with more and more rules to slow down the wing cars...lol

Thanks new-parts.
I wonder when that started... and since this is true I wonder why so many tracks still race with the wings when a non-wing show is so much better - IMHO.
Now - that should start some "discussion".
