27 cars for 10G to win speedweek show at probably the raciest track on the schedule? I don't get it but it happens all the time. Pay more and get less cars. What incentive do these tracks have to pay more than the basic purse when it only draws the same cars, maybe even less? Anyhow props to GV for a great show, and for paying more.

Local weekend warriors probably can't afford to run every race, probably have to work, so they skip midweek shows?

Sadly this happens all the time. Geography, driver comfort level, how hard a track might be on equipment, and other factors are more important than the purse. At Ohio Speedweek, the Knittel memorial, which paid BY FAR the most money of the whole week, was the one with the lowest car count.

Pay more and get less cars. Barring the novelty shows. 100% accurate. See it all the time. Track, series, wing, geography, etc doesn't matter. The more the pay, the less the cars.

Grandview is quite a drive from the Lincoln/Williams Grove area that most of the Central PA teams are from. That combined with the Tuesday slot means it's going to get a bad car count. Personally I think its nice when the mid week shows don't get 50 cars as it gets the show over at a reasonable time.

27 cars for midweek show is fine for me especially at Grandview where its tight and technical. 32 from the 27 would be perfect if there was 5 more high quality teams attending. With the 27 on Tuesday night there was a great field of drivers including Larson and Bell. Having them two alone makes up for any extra cars that would be way less competitive. Grandview is a must see for 410 sprints for anyone who has not yet been there and thinking about it. Super underated, racey, banked, very fast old school dirt track. Watching on Flo Racing this past week I can't believe how many wires and poles all over the place keeping the lights on. I was thinking how amazing it would be with new Musco lighting. Races like the National Open, a weekend show, I want to see large field with the best cars & drivers from all over.
