Do you know the order of events next Saturday? Tony Bochoven(?) announced Saturday that there would be 2 SRX heats and 100 lap feature FOLLWED BY a full 410 sprint car showw. Is that correct? I personally don't want to watch the SRX thing. Was hoping they would run the full 410 show (time trials through A main) before the 100 lap SRX main event.

Just from what I observed from SRX at Stafford last night - they ran 2 timed SRX heats at 15 minutes each and then the 100 lap feature right after it. Their TV window is 8-10pm, so there's little chance you're getting a full 410 show between the heats and SRX feature. Evernham did say they have to tweak a little since they actually went over the TV window by about 10-15 minutes last night.

I think when they get to dirt it will be a much more interesting show. I think interviews may be more interesting as well. Michael Waltrip's interview was interesting last Sat. Let's face it - it will be more than a one groove track. I love this new idea and I hope it is successful. I just wish more races were on dirt - or at least on tracks with several grooves to run on and pass on. I'd like to see more interviews as to how some of the drivers are adapting to a completely new format than they are used to. Thanks to the folks behind this series.
Do you remember when Steve Kinser won the IROC race? I think at Daytona?????

I saw the schedule this morning on Knoxville Raceway's Facebook page, it looks like engine heat at 5:25 followed by hot laps at 5:45 and time trials immediately after. SRX goes live from 7-9 pm, track prep after and heats start at 10 pm follwed by features.
I am a little bummed about the SRX, I was planning on being there this Saturday long before the SRX announced the date, now instead of 3 classes of sprints for $15, I get one class for $30.00.
It will be cool to see an Indy 500 winner race on dirt just 3 weeks after he drank the milk....when was the last time that happened?

Any type of NASCAR racing and I am assuming this new series looks a lot like the IMCA Stock Car class as far as speed and handling. At least that is the closest thing I can compare it to as far as any familiar dirt classes go. That type of racing doesn't have the speed of a Sprint Car or dirt Late Model but the side by side close racing can be entertaining.
It is what it is and will likely benefit dirt track racing by exposing it to more people. We enjoy our favorite dirt streaming services but subscribers are already dirt track fans. Anytime it can cross over and get exposure on broadcast TV that is a good thing. Especially if the broadcasts show some 410 clips so viewers can see how fast and exciting they are in comparison. I'm sure they'll show clips of dirt drivers so that viewers can get a taste of what normally races at these tracks.

If you go to the oldest videos in Dirtvision's vault there is a daytime WoO race from Knoxville that was broadcast on NBC. Would have been like 1980 or 1981. I don't know if that was live as I was less than 5 years old at the time, but there's a strong possibility that it was.

It was Talladega actually. I was there! That was back when I would go to a NASCAR race, and I gotta say the Kinser win there was very exciting for me.

Thanks for all the help and comments. I can see 3 classes of sprints most every Saturday at Knoxville for $15. I have zero intrest in this SRX thing. Why spend $30 for a race I'm not interested in and a 410 show? I could watch the SRX race on tv for free if I wanted to see it. I'll stay home Saturday night. The Dunkins are awesome at track prep but I don't know how much they can really do in an hour. So I expect a poor track for the 410 show after a 100 lap SRX race & just 1 hr to try and bring the track back to good racing condition. JMO!
