I am lucky enough to live in PA where tracks are different than most of the rest of the dirt tracks around the country. So this isn't as much as an improvement for me but I think could be for others.

Experiencing the races from the infield.

Yes, you do miss a little bit of the action because you can't see the entire track, but you still see majority of it. And I don't care about the parts I can't see because you can always watch the replay of whatever you missed almost instantly on your phone thanks to modern streaming services at many tracks. The trade off of what you do see is worth it.

More pros:

- You're so much closer to the action that you see, hear, and feel so much more than you could in the stands. Being eye level or below the cars on the track rather than above them is just so much more of an intense and interesting way to experience the races.

- Don't have to pack in the stands and worry about moving around/tripping over other people if you need to leave to the bathroom or something.

- Most lawn chairs are more comfortable than a wooden or metal grandstand seat. Same priced ticket you pay for a 3ft space in the stands gets you youre living room recliner in the infield.

- Dust blows more to the outside of the track, which you end up with a clearer view than you may even get in the stands or watching on stream. (Why more streams don't have more inside cameras set up is beyond me. I get cameras add production and equipment costs but c'mon man)

absolutely love the infield.  i'll add that you can throw football/baseball with your kids between races and take photos without a fence in the way.

the grove lags behind because you can't see most of the track from the infield.  no issue at the other places.  many reasons to move the rigs out of the infield.

In my case one of the things I never liked about this sport was the huge time and financial commitment it took to follow it.  From 1960 when I went to my first race until just a few years ago one had to attend to follow it.  That meant wrapping up the yard work early and driving anywhere from one to six hours each way, paying for gas and food and a room if it was far enough.  Streaming channels have solved that problem to the point where I have a hard time convincing myself to go to races anymore.

I live I the land of six, seven, eight and as many as nine classes of back gate promoting.  To attend a race is to travel alone and sit through all those classes vs watching quality shows with minimal support classes like the Outlaws and All Stars or Knoxville weekly instead of multi class local programs.  I don't need to watch Hornets, Pure Sticks, Mod 4's, B Mods, A Mods, Street Stocks, Super Stocks, Crate Late Models, and Late Models just to see 15 minutes of Sprint Cars when I watch on TV.

Someone I know is going to be inducted into the SCHOF this season so I want to try and get down there for the induction ceremony and stick around for the races.  The neighbors son is driving a non-wing limited motor Sprint so I need to get to a couple local shows to support that deal as well.  There is a favorite Memorial race in the fall that I like to put up some bonus money for and I still haven't been to Jackson since it became the Motorplex or the revamped Husets.  Aside from those few races I don't do 45 shows like I was doing ten years ago.  Just watching on TV mostly these days.  In addition to the driving and expense it's nice to have a travel companion and I can't check that box off so I'd rather watch on TV than drive down the highway talking to myself and having no one to split expenses with.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have any issues with the tracks as I don't have high standards for the tracks.  My own circumstances and the proliferation of affordable streaming channels have been a game changer.  I got up close and personal when I was doing photography and don't have to get hit by chunks of clay or smell the spent methanol to remember what it's like being at the track.  Those things about the live experience (along with the noise setting my tinnitus off) are etched permanently in my memory.  This is a great time to be a racing fan when we can tune in at the end of the day without having to chase the sport.

no more than 4 divisions, promoter run the featured division first

completely asinine that a promoter will have six divisions, pay 3k to win for sprints, and hold fans who drove hours to see sprint cars hostage til midnight to run the sprint feature last.
