I used to love Sammy's racing. And I can't forget some of his iconic cars like the Hooter's car and especially the silver Channellock car. But everytime I see him these days he's ticked off, cussing and blaming some other driver for something.
Is he sour or what's going on? Am I off-base here?

I dunno. The only thing I can gauge it on is seeing him in the media. Every time I've seen him interviewed, Jeff seems like a pretty mellow guy.

You mean the guy that always has a smile on his face, Jeff swindell ? Unlike Ole grumpy pants, I wonder if those 2 ever got along ? When the both were on the tour, I never saw them even pitted near each other.

Sammy ain't changing....but another driver who always seems to be pissed off at the world, is Kevin Thomas Jr. Been watching quite a few USAC races lately on Flo and KTR is ALWAYS mad and never satisfied even with a podium finish.

I don't find this true of Sammy. Sure he's not butterflies and rainbows kind of guy, but the interview with Winged Nation last week was great. He was respectuful to the hosts and sport, honest, and kind of humorous in his answers.

It is all an act, and he does a pretty good job of it. He really makes you think that he is always in a bad mood.
In contrast, somebody like John Wayne was so fake and everybody could tell that he was nothing but a big pussy. .
