This weekend should give a small indication what kind of car counts we can expect, my guess other than the bigger shows (which there are quite a few) weekly shows could be a little sketchy, with that said there is some good $$$ to be had on a weekend of racing in the Midwest, so fingers crossed.

Donovan Peterson, Ryan Bickett??? Lee Grosz now lives in Watertown so its a much closer track for him on Sundays then it used to be maybe more appearances by him then previous years?
I'm not terribly worried about car count.
I am more worried about crowd count, that place was so severely Rubinized that a lot of people quit attending races.
The new management has their work cut out for them to get the fans back.
I am pulling for them to succeed big time.

The biggest thing the new management could do to get the crowd to come back and then come back repeatedly is to run a fast paced show that gets done at a decent time.
Aka, the complete opposite of what they normally do at Jackson.
I get it that there is a lot of stuff that they can't control but there is a lot that they can control that often gets overlooked or just plain isn't a priority. Get enough equipment around to clear wrecks fast and put rules in place that minimize the amount of time that is spent riding around under caution waiting for cars in the work area. And #1, needing to take a 30 minute beer break to do track prep during the show should NOT happen on a regular basis.
Also, any class of cars that has a clutch should roll out onto the track lined up for the heat races and ready to take the green flag after 1 lap around the track. 30 years ago this was standard practice, seems everyone that works at a race track forgot how to speed up a show.

Brooke Tatnell in the Dewall #16 I assume will be another regular.
Any chance of Kyle Larson being there for the June Monday/Tuesday WoO show?

I didn't know the dewall car was still around, that would be awesome!
I'm about 95% sure Dusty Ballenger won in a 360. If I recall he was on a rail running the high side and he held McCarl off.

Yes Larson will be there. Also a few days at Jacksons that week too.

Juhl's car with the 2TKS body is staying in Sioux Falls. Troy's car is staying In Knoxville so they do not have to haul the car down the road, so I'd assume he'd be running at Husets as well.
I'd also think Brown will be traveling more. If you check out Husets schedule there are a lot of NOSA nights, and Casey's 410 Outlaws.
Unless the McCarls have day jobs I think you'd see AMAC as well when he's not doing KWS.

No budget/beginner/hobby class of sprint cars to let guys get laps is the biggest problem in my opinion. The UMSS is running Husets September 5th and 6th and hopefully that opens some eyes up. Having big purses to get guys to travel is fine but that is not a long term plan to build from within.

They're running Racesaver sprints as part of the weekly program every Sunday night.

Yeah but that really isn't a class to just jump into plus we all know how much those motors can run. There are guys in North Dakota running under the Renegads brand that have less than 5k into their whole car and are having a blast and learning. Maybe some get the bug and move to 410s? Two former UMSS guys are running full time with the IRA so it can work.

Locally, it seems the Racesaver class has brought new people into sprintcar racing, so I'd call that a class to jump into. I don't know anything about Renegade sprints in ND, but I bet a guy with only $5,000 in his car spends most of his time getting lapped. That doesn't sound like much of a blast to me.

Sunday, May 9th a little corner of my world will return to something resembling normal. I'm so looking forward to sitting high up in the turn 4 stands watching sprint cars fly through the corners. I believe I've attended 50% of the races there in about the last 5 years. It would have been 100% but I was gone for the other one. Husets running 410 sprints, Racesaver sprints, and Late Model Street stocks. They are not running hobby stocks, micro sprints or B-mods. Should be a pretty fast moving show.
It will be interesting to see where the cars are going to come from. Hartford, 20 miles away, runs Racesavers and LMSS. Jackson, 90 miles away runs 360's, Knoxville and Grand Forks, each a long ways away run 410's. There are also WoO races and big specials planned. With Todd Quiring the new owner, I expect a lot of great things this year at Husets.
What are you expecting from Husets this year?

Hopefully they get good car counts because what was already a beautiful facility is already getting another face lift... higher banked track, new decks on the new suites and a brand new campground, this place will be second to none in the country so if they can provide a weekly program with some big time talent it will become a must see destination for any sprint car fan. And for those who don't care about facilities the racing is always very good. However at the end of the day it comes down to car counts.

Car Counts will struggle,
Once you get going into the weekly swing of things and the "hype" of the place dies down. You will be look at 18-22 305's and about the same 410s with 360s mixed in.
Have always thought that this place needs to follow after the Eldora Model, 2/3 Special races of different sanctions and cars each month and no weekly racing.

You are correct to a certain extent. An IMCA sprint car is still too expensive for most which is why the UMSS brand and it's Renegade regions were created. A guy can get out and race a sprint car for less than it costs to buy an ATV. The Western Renegade region in ND is only in it's second year and they have plenty of cars and 38 race schedule this year in an area where no budget sprint car class existed.

Please check out the the post from August 18th on the WRSS Facebook page. Josh Johnson was challenging for the lead in a 2800 dollar car and I think the motor was built in a high school shop class if I am not mistaken but I could be. Sorry, I can't seem to remember how to post pics or hyperlink stuff. Please remember this series was started in the fall of 2019 with one car and has already grown into a series that has too many requests for race dates!

Wish I had one of those ND jobs.
There isn't much about running 38 races that fits my 'race from my paycheck' budget..
Wishing Huset's all the best! Great track & great area, I'm sure the summer will be awesome.

Well with Austin McCarl and Carson McCarl blowing up their motors at Knoxville. I am going to say that will be 2 less cars on opening night maybe 3.

Eric Lutz DOES have a 410 had it at Hartford practice Saturday.
I assume Chris Martin will be at Husets quite a bit.
I think car count will be fine.
