Thinking about making the trip to Bridgeport on Tuesday for the Posse invasion at Bridgeport. Anyone have any thoughts on if it's worth the trip to NJ? Any idea who is making the haul from Posse land?

I don't know who's all going out from Posseland, but yeah, I'd go if my schedule allowed it. Its a very easy track to get to highway wise and the track is racy. Go check it out.

Depends on how far you have to drive, right?

My one visit to Bridgeport, I got lost coming from Philly (no GPS, just Mapquest, which doesn't seem too accurate any more...)

I was coming from the Simeone Collection, incredible racing "sports cars" (obviously not everyone's bag here, but still amazing!)

My fave was the Ferrari Testa Rosa... Smile

You got lost coming from Philly, Jim?

You just cross over the Commodore Barry and take the first exit (130 North). Once you're on 130 its the first or second exit (Rt 44) and boom, you're at the track. From the bridge to the track its like three miles. You must've had some interesting directions...

I am looking forward to this race, had it circled when it was first announced. Bridgeport was my track growing up as a teenager. At first I thought the new owner, Doug Rose, was making a big mistake down sizing the big old 5/8th's to the new configuration. He apparently has hit a home run....the racing I have seen on Flo has been incredible. I have never been, but I heard the new track lay out is very similar to Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana.

I watch every race I can from Bridgeport on Flo. I love the new configuration.

Bridgeport is high on my bucket list of tracks to visit.

I don't remember, I think I missed 1st exit, had to backtrack quite a ways

I was coming from South Philly, might have been a different bridge....

So far I've seen Danny Dietrich, Billy Dietrich, Kerry Madsen, Tim Shaffer, Dylan Norris, Ricky Dieva, Justin Peck, Brent Marks, and Freddie Rahmer are all comfirmed for the race already.   I'm sure you will get some more PA guys and Delaware/New Jersey guys like JJ Grasso etc.   I could see there being 24 to 28 cars.

Last night they had a race on the tube and it was pretty entertaining. I've have friends that rave about the new configuration, it's on the bucket list now.

rev, the old track was fasier than Selinsgrove 'cause it was bigger. They had a radar gun with a screen read out and  I saw 147 mph at the outlaws first trip there in the 90's. It was too fast for sprint cars, really. Scary fast was the truth. layout is like the new Lawrenceburg but a little bigger, maybe. i thought the old track was the best place to see a modified race, saw Barefoot Bob McCreadie blow a tire on lap 9 (ironic, that was his number) and come from the back to win a Sunoco Summer Series race (93 laps) against all the big modified guys.

So, did anybody end up going to Bridgeport? I couldn't make it, but watched the replay on Flo. I know you can't get the whole picture just watching on TV, but the racing looked pretty good. Guys were using multiple lines and the modified feature was very entertaining.

Thoughts?

Bridgeport has now become a great track. Far better than it used to be. It might be the best track period for dirt mods. The sprint race was decent, but every race I've watched for the mods there has been awesome.

I was there Tuesday night for my first race of the season and am glad I went. A few points, the racing for the modifieds was outstanding all night. The new configuation is perfect for them. Pretty good support from the Posse for a Tuesday night in April. Overall the 410's got around the place at a pretty good clip and the feature was entertaining. The crowd was tremedous, the best I have seen there in years. I think Doug Rose will only build on this going forward. I can honestly say, Bridgeport is back on the map, in terms of excitement & Atmosphere. I will be back for a few more races this season for sure.

I agree, it looks like it changed A LOT from what it used to be.  Nice to see a track going in the right direction
