Due to covid still not sure Eldora will race this year. If they do wouldn't it be nice if Tony would put that wet shiny stuff ( water ) in, not on, the track. Worlds fastest half mile? More like worlds dustist half mile. Hard to watch a race when you can't see the cars and have to shield your eyes from the dirt and dust. Not really a half mile anyway.

Not me....As long as Eldora is in the 12 to very low 13 second bracket when I am there. You will not here me say a word about the dust. I don't mind the dust. I very much do mind the hard, black, and dry though in warm-ups and the beginning of the heats though.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

saw many years ago when Tony was in diapers guys setting in corner on grass with gas masks on. They were just covered with dust and dirt. OK, maybe Tony was out of diapers by then.

Has Eldora ever been not dusty? In actuality, a wet track is usually dustier than one that is hard and slick, unless the track is extremely wet. Of coutrse the type of dirt/clay makes a big difference too.

Someone isn't old enough to have seen rooster tails fly over the fence at a day Fair race.

I've been there once where it rained all day, start was delayed and it was dusty by heat race time. 2015 where there was a downpour and the event didn't get started till 1-2am it was dusty. It really isn't a big deal other than people wanting to cry for the sake of crying.

Funny we talk about masks today because of covid. What are the 2 things you take to a dirt track today. Gogles and a mask, especially at eldora

Agree. When mother nature dictactes all of the track prep, or lack thereof, it's hard to complain about the conditions-----though some people still do.

Yes, The Big E has had plenty of races without dust. I used to travel out there 2-3 times a year from '85 to '93 and I've seen good races without the dust. Those were all non winged races, the 4 Crown races that started in the earlier part of the day could get a bit dusty though but then it would blow off. I went to the '89 Kings Royal and can't remember it being that dusty on either day, that was the only winged race I have witnessed there. Not sure I'll ever go back there, been there done that.

Yea, many of good non-dusty races at Eldora, always think the sheer speed shaves off some soil and kicks in the stands, regardless of weather and track conditions, always bring you sippy cup lids and life is good...
