It looks like my start will be May 8th at I-90 Speedway, Hartford S.D. for racesaver sprints and some other classes
May 9th will be the triumphant return of Husets Speedway for 410 sprints, racesaver sprints and late model street stocks.
How 'bout you?

If not Memphis next weekend for IMCA likely 34 raceway early April for their 410 opener. Eye balling Peverly for the WoO but weather dependent.

I went to the Ice Breaker at Lincoln, I haven't missed an opening day since about '84. Hit the Groves opening day also. I too am looking forward to the USAC eastern spring fling. Bridgeport sounds like a must see track, I have several friends who say that place is awesome.

TV season started with the Chili Bowl and without trying to go back and count them all has to be up to at least a couple dozen.
Outdoor season, I have no plans so far. The virus thing isn't going to be an issue this year but when I put down the camera I quickly realized that I don't enjoy sitting by myself in the stands. I am a loner and that is fine except for when it comes to travel to races. The local shows are typicall six and seven classes of Stock Cars and Modifieds so any live race opportunities are limited to a few specials if I want to see a Sprints only show. The other option is Knoxville but that would require twelve hours of windshield time with me doing all the driving and covering all expenses. At that point I compare the cost of PPV and I can't justify the trip. The attraction of live races is getting to hang with friends and family so without that attending alone doesn't appeal to me.
Those late night drive suck more each year after 65. Chasing races alone is a young mans obsession. I will make a few shows and a Memorial in the fall but nothing close to the 40+ I was doing ten years ago.

Hope you're doing well. Board just isn't the same without Jeff poking the bear all the time. Miss his cranking on people. Including me at times, but I always gave it back to him.

2 week ago at Marysville Raceway and then we went to a KWS 410 race tonight at Stockton! Excited to say California is finally opening up to us fans to go to races again and we have lots of great races planned between the SCCT 360 series and KWS 410 series with no conflicts! Also World of Outlaws races in September and Trophy Cup in Tulare in October!
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Always liked his banter back and forth with people. I think he and I only had 1 disagreement and really it wasn't that big of deal. He was one of the ones that could take what he could dish out too so made things fun and I can respect that as well.

This random piece came from the forum post "When does racing season start for you?"
I went to answer his question and just kept writing!
Its mostly about me, but I also want to highlight a concentrated effort on how the Outlaws,United Sprint Car Series, and Carolina Sprint Tour are turning the Southeast into an amazing destination for sprint car racing.
Pete with the USCS has found a home through the early winter months attracking racers from all over the country toward his gator tracks. The Outlaws being told not to near California have found a home to sold out crowds in southern towns.
The Carolina Sprint Tour (305 RaceSavers) just had their greatest weekend ever at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, NC last weekend with over thirty cars in attendance.
I was able to come in 7th both nights and broke the track record Saturday night. With racesavers being so close motorwise, I was praying just to make the feature both nights, much less top 7 both nights.
Coming home from a long weekend with a sprint car that doesn't have a scratch on it in a long, long time.... Dad and I have decided to go race Lincoln, PA this weekend!
The adrenaline rush from just having a blast racing sprint cars will make a dad and son do crazy things like drive from Hemby Bridge, NC to the heart of Pennyslvania to beat a bunch of Posse.
Bobby Allen said if we did ok, and wanted to come back the next week to race Williams Grove, we could keep our trailer at his place since I had to haul ass home to work Sunday morning. I hope I'm able to take him up on his offer! The Shark just keeps getting cooler and cooler.
Most racers put out their fantasy race schedules and everyone wishes them the best. I've really only tried to put out my first race and pray life goes well. Its the greatest feeling in the world to close the trailer door at the end of the night and look at dad, and say "well, where do you want to race now?" "Lincoln is racing 305's next week." "Aight."
Dad is a huge reader of Hosehead forums, but never commented. I use to write halfway decent articles on here but have sense lost a passion for it for some reason. It felt great to be excited to write about racing again. I hope I catch on again.
I know this article was all over the place and please forgive. I'm just not use to this much sprint car racing in the South and now I'm racing Lincoln!!!
Life is perfect. Wish us luck!

Our season started January 1 with a show at Stockton Dirt Track. Now late March and we're up for our 3rd show this weekend. Then we start getting real busy in April.
