How many tracks have stands as old as Eldora's? Wouldn't it be nice if Tony would spend some money for nice stands like Dirt Oval 66 in Joliet,Il. has. Should have done it last year when there were no races there.

If you're talking about West Memphis when you say Riverside I agree completely. I haven't been there in several years, but the last time I was there the west side stands were pretty bad. Of course everything was bad on the west side. Don't know if they've changed anything since then, but they need to.

Are we talking about the concrete grandstands that are basically built into a hill and are better than a lot of tracks in the country or just the grandstands in the turns? I normally sit in the main grandstand and never really thought about them needing to be replaced, and each time I walk by the ones in the turns they look better than a lot of the tracks I visit. Not sure if they can really replace the main grandstand without it being a major construction project and at the moment, not sure it is really needed. I have never really been uncomfortable or had any complaints in the many years I have been going to Eldora. The money Tony spends on Eldora seems to always be well spent so I would say he knows what he is doing.

The ones in the turns are pretty nice. The main grandstand is part of history. I don't see why they would change it.

Some of the worst stands I ever saw that weren't at an abandoned track were at the old desert track in Hawthorne , NV. Rickety old wooden ones that swayed noticeably enough that it caught your eye while racing there.
The joint closed about 20 years ago and then, briefly, reopened a couple of years ago. First thing that the new promoters did was to let the local fire department use the stands for a fire training exercise. Think a guy smoking a coffin nail lit it off.
You were safer racing there than sitting in the stands.
