On Friday, February 12, dirt track racing in the Lone Star State will kick off with a bang with the B&B Chassis USRA Southern Thaw presented by American Racer—a seven-night, four-track trek through North Texas featuring USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods, Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks and USRA Tuners.

Piles of cash will be doled out to these larger-than-life grassroots throttle-mashers, and now even more money is up for grabs thanks to some additional sponsors who have stepped up to support the Southern Thaw competitors.

Shane and Shelly Sprinkle's S&S Fishing & Rental and Jody York's Freedom Firewood have boosted the USRA Stock Car payouts each night, adding more moolah in the middle and increasing the start money all seven nights from $100 to $125.

And thanks to Leslie Gill, any driver who competes in a Southern Thaw event that goes on to win one of the feature races during the following week's Lone Star Tour will get the same bonus being promised to drivers getting rewarded by that organization for sitting out the Southern Thaw.

Cody Gill, owner of Platinum Petroleum Services in Odessa, Texas, is also sponsoring the tour with a Back-to-Back Bonus. any driver who can win both nights at any of the three tracks hosting back-to-back nights of racing will get a $500 cash bonus for the doubleheader sweep.

As part of the 6th Annual Smackdown at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, the first two nights take place on Friday and Saturday, February 12-13, at the 1/4-mile bullring. After spending Sunday in church begging forgiveness for their slide-jobs, racers roll into the Big O Speedway in Ennis on Monday and Tuesday, February 15-16, followed by a one-night stand at the 82 Speedway in Petty on Wednesday, February 17. The mini-series concludes Thursday and Friday, February 18-19, at the Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls.

Stock Cars will be racing for $1,200 to win each night, Limited Mods grapple for a $1,000 top prize, Factory Stocks fight for $750 to win and Tuners try to take home $200 each night. Factory Stocks will compete for a $2,000 top prize on Saturday at the RPM Speedway during the annual Smackdown.
