Recently, a woman who works at the same very large corporation that I do received the 2nd worst phone call a mother could receive. Her son had been seriously injured in Afghanistan. Along with him, one other Iowan was seriously injured and 6 others were killed. As part of the racing family, we have all felt the pain of losing one of our own or seeing one become seriously injured. As of Friday the 16th of November, Jon and Kain had been moved to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Our first mission last week had been to raise funds to get Michele, her husband, and their 16 year old daughter to Washington, D.C. to see her son. Our mission now is much more fun. We want to bombard these young men with cards. We're looking for silly, fun cards instead of sad, get-well cards. We want to keep the message upbeat while still letting these heroes know that they are being thought of and appreciated. Although, letting them know that you appreciate everything they do is never out of line. Regardless of your politics, you just about have to be Satan to not respect the sacrifices that our men and women are making. If you would like to send a card, the addresses are:
Jonathon Albert
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Ave. N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
Kain Schilling
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Ave. N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
I realize that this is not about sprint cars or pit lizards, but racing people are the most patriotic people I know, and they understand the importance of the family and the team.
I also request that maybe we keep this one alive and post anyone else who could use the support of the "average" American race fan.

Are you sure that a ward number or something dosen't need to be added to the address? That's a large facility. Thanks for you efforts.

These guys and gals are sacrificing a lot for us... whether they want to or not - they are there and we're not.
Mainly - I thought this fine effort and thought deserved to be brought back to the front. Hopefully we can let a lot of these fine soldiers know that no matter what our politics are - we appreciate that they are putting their lives on the line every day.
