Anyone notice after a restart the cars were leaving tracks in the dirt dust that had fallen on the speedway ? They did to take that garbage back to were it came from. Track stayed fast all night but he'll every driver interview they had to keep wiping there eyes from all the dirt dust.

I noticed at the end when they were doing victory lane and the camera on the tower had pulled back it looked like there was an entire coating of dirt on the grandstand stairs, like you were walking down a sandy beach.

Not to mention the dangerous situation on not being able to see.The track looked really fast until the dust bowl. Not much difference than dense fog, smoke or snowstorm.Nothing happened but it sure could.

Best for the track owners to regulate (control) the dust, than have OSHA come in and regulate it for them. The trak status is no different than a construction site in the eyes of OSHA.

I never really thought about that. Has OSHA been involved in this in the past at other tracks?

I think the DEP was getting involved in Port Royal about 15-20 years ago about dust. Not sure about OSHA, unless employees were subjected to unsafe conditions.

This isn't a lack of water issue, it's the dirt or clay that they have. Same goes for all Ohio tracks. The water truck jokes are outdated.

So... to much water equals single file racing...... Not enough water means we can't see anything. There are a lot of smart people in racing.. Wonder if anyone will ever decide this might be a problem and stop pretending its ok.....

How often do they use that track anyway? I don't know anything about track crew... do they know how to maintain dirt tracks in NASCAR country?

Ridiculous. I would be absolutely embarrassed and ashamed if I was in charge of track conditions. There's no way any fans in attendance enjoyed either of the past 2 nights. Good thing they weren't packed to capacity. What a shit show.

Can't imagine what it was like for the drivers
You think they would have learned something from last nite????

It's one thing that the fans could not see the track, but the safety issue is another. An incredibly dangerous situation. Pretty sad that the best shots video shots were from the drone during the race. Hope they figure it out before next year. I can't imagine what it would have been like with 3 divisions each night. YIKES!!

If it's anything like the TMS dirt track it only gets used a few times a year, and the tracks are both owned by Bruton Smith I think. I think TMS has 360 sprints on it's dirt track maybe 3 or 4 nights a year. As of a few years ago I know TMS was using Lanny Ross Edwards from Devils Bowl for track prep, although I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Just went back and watched the replay on YouTube. Wow, that sucked! I watched Friday night but had company in town visiting last night so I didn't watch, and I'm really glad I didn't. If I was one of the fans that bought a ticket and was out there I would be pissed. I also think the WoO drivers should have say in this somehow since it's their lives at risk.

The season is complete but I was disappointed as there was little passing and at least no one got hurt. There has to be a better place .I realize the time of year in the midwest can be unpredictable but a shorter track like Husetts would be much better but might have snow or cold so I am sure that is a factor, The Charlotte track was fast Friday until the dust and I realize it was live broadcast but had to be a disappointment to owners ,drivers, fans in attendance, and Dirt Vision audience.Hate to say it but it was like watching the first 475 miles of a Nascar race but I still watched it.

I let my fast pass expire in September so I watched the five minute race recap on YouTube last night. It was so dusty that I had to shower when It was over and that was from just watching on tv.

I hear you Stan, I had to wipe a ton of dust off of my computer screen after I watched it.

They put new clay on it a few years back and it's not as good as it was before. For years the track has been great, but they need to get it back to how it was.
