2nd Annual $30,000 Paul Peters Memorial featuring $3,000 possible to win Sprint Car Bandits at 82 Speedway – SAT. NOV. 7, 5PM!

Petty, TX (10/13/20) by DarinShort.com. Long-time North Texas dirt track racecar owner Paul “Patsy” Peters passed away on July 9th, 2019. He was the father of 82 Speedway’s track owner, Tracy Peters. In honor of his life that was ingrained in the dirt track racing community of this region, Tracy is putting on a massive event on November 7th at 82 Speedway at 5pm, the 2nd Annual $30,000 Paul Peters Memorial – featuring a potential $3,000 to win and $300 to start 360 C.I. Sprint Car Bandits® (SCB) series season finale; plus $1,500 to win Modified, $1,000 to win each Limited Modified and Factory Stock, and $750 to win Eco Mod divisions. All Sprint Car Bandits series rules are in effect and can be found at www.SprintCarBandits.com . All 2020 82 Speedway rules will remain in effect for this race for all other divisions. Click www.82Speedway.com then the ‘rules’ tab for your specific division. The beautiful ¼ mile dirt oval of 82 Speedway is located about 15 minutes west of Paris, directly on Hwy 82 in Petty Texas. An inclement weather date is set for the following Saturday, November 14th, if need be (with all components and times identical).

Fans can expect a full field of many of the region's best dirt track racers to be on hand on this very special night. Paul was known to have a big personality and an even bigger presence, so it is only fitting to have an event of this magnitude in his honor. Paul was heavily involved throughout the years with several drivers in several divisions, and this huge event will help to celebrate the memory of his life in racing.

NOTE EARLY START TIMES! The pit area on Saturday November 7th will open by 1pm, with the spectator grandstands opening by 3:30pm. Sprint Pit Meeting/Cutoff 4:15pm, Track divisions Pit Meeting/Cutoff 4:30pm. Hot Laps 5:00; then we will go right into the racing program. Adult GA $20, Kids 6-11 $5, Seniors $15. Pit Passes $35 (Pits Ages 5 & Under $15). Outside food/drink coolers (around the size of a 12-pack) are allowed in for $5 but cannot contain glass, and beer is OK if the person is at least 21 years of age. Coolers should not take up grandstand seating if the crowd size dictates. Transponders & RaceCeivers required in all divisions (nightly track rental of transponders available for $15 plus ID). No mufflers are required by 82 Speedway. Please respect the track’s ‘every other row closed’ safe distancing policy – as required by State order. You will see an ‘X’ on every other row in the stands, please use those rows for getting to/from your seat throughout the event.

If you’ve yet to visit 82 Speedway, it is much closer to DFW than a lot of people think and is NOT the old Paris Speedway southeast of Paris. As a point of reference, including a quick fuel stop, you can get from the intersection of Bass Pro Shops/I-30/Bush in Garland to 82 Speedway in 80 minutes.

TRACK DIRECTIONS: Track is located about 1 mile east of Petty Texas right on Hwy 82, which is about 20 minutes east of Bonham and 15 minutes west of Paris. 16369 US Hwy 82 Petty, TX 75470. Go to www.82speedway.com or www.Facebook.com/82Speedway for track details.

82 Speedway features a 60’ racing surface that is .26 miles on the pole (1/4 mile) in distance, and the groove is right at 1/3 mile. There are no walls around the entire track – with lots of runoff space wherever you’re racing, which leads to less tore up equipment. Over-sized grandstands that each have unobstructed viewing from whatever spot you choose to view from. Huge spectator and pit parking areas will greet everyone on their arrival. Track owners, Shelley and Tracy Peters who are some of the nicest people you’ll ever come across, and they have been reinvesting in the permanent structure of the facility since they purchased it last year. Bottom line, if you haven’t been there, here’s your chance on Saturday, November 7th at 5pm!

Tommy & Sherry Bryant of Cabinets By Tommy LLC in Granbury Texas has stepped up to provide the 360C.I. Sprint Car Bandits drivers with the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $700 Dash For Cash, with $200 earmarked for 2nd place and $100 for finishing in third! But there’s more! If the polesitter accepts the Tommy’s Challenge they will forgo their pole dash start by starting at the tail instead, and if they come through the Dash field to win, they will not only win $700 – but they will collect the Tommy’s Challenge money, which is $300 – that’ll make the Dash pay $1,000 to win! And if no one wins the $300 Tommy’s Challenge money, that will be paid out in the form of a Hard Charger award for the same amount in the A-feature!

Here’s how the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $700 Dash For Cash will work at 82 Speedway on Saturday, November 7th:

- All SCB teams will draw in and qualify in their heat races as normal, with normal series passing points.

- At the conclusion of the heat races, the top 2 finishers from each heat race will advance to the Cabinets by Tommy LLC $700 Dash For Cash.

- The Dash will be lined up by draw, and the winner will take home an additional $700 from Cabinets by Tommy LLC! Note that if the polesitter doesn’t take the Tommy’s Challenge, it will be offered to the outside polesitter.

More about the sponsor, Cabinets by Tommy LLC. Tommy and Sherry Bryant are the company owners, which is based out of Granbury Texas (southwest of Ft. Worth). Many of you know their daughter through sprint car racing, which is Britney Bryant that drove the beautiful number 99b car at select Sprint Car Bandits events in the past – and is now piloted by John Ricketts with a 360C.I. engine under the hood.

Cabinets by Tommy LLC is an extremely popular service-providing company for many homeowners throughout the Metroplex area, and they can be reached at [email protected] or by phoning 817-991-0659. The Sprint Car Bandits series would like to thank them for their support.

If the races rain out before the completion of the heat races, hold on to your ticket stub, as it will be valid for the next scheduled race of same ticket price value (in other words, if tickets that night were $15, the next event you will have a $15 credit when you redeem your ticket stub from the previous event). The exact same procedure will be in effect regarding pit passes. If the races rain out after the heat races, the event is considered complete, and any remaining races will not be rescheduled and all drivers will receive start money for their scheduled division that night (for any of the feature events that rained out). There will be no grandstand tickets valid for a future date if races are rained out after the completion of heat races.

Please make plans to join us for the $30,000 Paul Peters Memorial at 82 Speedway in Petty Texas on Saturday November 7th at 5pm for a huge night of racing – all in remembrance of the track owner’s father, Paul Peters.
