Let's talk underlying headlines of the weekend so far. After Friday night racing, what's something headline worthy you saw from driver's on the local levels doing bad to the bone things?
Me? James Broty at Huset's running in tough 410 company in the 360 class, in a family car with minimal sponsorship backing, after spending most of the summer trying to move up into a 410. He didn't podium in the feature, but he was a small fish finishing strong in the feature surrounded by guys who either normally run a 410 OR are running 360s at big tracks like Knoxville.
Pretty cool to watch, and makes his future look really strong to watch.

I met the Brotys while taking photos at UMSS races some years back. Their father raced for a while, his name escapes me but he hit a tractor tire one night at SCVR or whatever they called it that year (I still think of it as Kopellah) and I don't believe he raced after that. That was a pretty hard lick, I was standing near that area not far from where he hit. I do remember that they build motors and I know one of his sponsors. Nice to see James doing well and making the show at Husets.

Got busy at work and missed this reply! Sorry!
Yes, his father did race. Now his younger brother also races.
They own Broty Racing Engines.
Absolutely great family, with some overlooked talent, for sure!

Someone mentioned his father in a post and his name is Scott. I don't think Scott ever drove again after whacking one of those big tires they had by the pit entrance at St. Croix. I used to shoot the breeze with him sometimes but forgot his first name.
