When will tracks start running shows within a decent amount of time. To the man who slammed Williamsgrove for limiting the number of 305s, I wish they would have. 40 way to many and not a good show on a 1/2 mile track.Cold night came to see allstars had to sit through way to many heats with wrecks, two consis one with on ly 5 cars of which two wrecked. 1030 and still waiting to see the allstar feature. For special events no need to have so many carrs or any added division.. Show would have been just fine without it and ended at a decent time. Many left due the cold think and most left at the end of the 410s anyway

Watched on Flo. WG seems to take an eternity to get the cars on the track, lined up, and racing in each event. Pit the 410s inside and the support class outside. Why the mix front side last night?

Glad I'm not the only one that thought this. I was switching back and forth between the Grove and Grandview. The 305s were just awful and took an eternity.

Back in the day tracks were run by volunteers who help with racing cause they loved to be at the track. Watching, visiting, helping and then getting their job done. Today those fine people who helped develop the sport need to acknowledge it has evolved into an entertainment event. Like it or not, imo, tracks of the calibre we discuss on this forum need a mental mind shift that workers are there to provide entertainment. They need to focus on the work not the fun and unfortunately don't get much opportunity to enjoy their evening like they used to. Get a few hirings who care more about their paycheck than the trophy girl and run it like your livelihood depends on its success.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

305's are generally a good division to watch at any track other then the Grove. They cannot get around there without it being a crash fest. I went two years ago and it took almost two hours just to run their heats, and the cosi's took forever as well. After that, I said anytime they were on the card at the Grove, I would not go. I will say they put on a good show just about every where else. The only thing worse is probably Legends at Lincoln.

I used to hate 305's on a 1/2 mile but they are pretty racey and OK to watch at Port Royal or Selinsgrove. The long straights and tight turns at the Grove require HP and accelleration that they just don't have. Of course the semi-banked paper clip is obsolete and not really condusive to great racing for any division. Shorten those straights and bank those turns!

I don't mind a second division as long as they don't take too long and don't ruin the track. 305s did both last night and the field should be capped to 24 if they are invited back for an All star show.

Meanwhile I'm thinking only one support division and people are complaining? The land of six to nine classes sends our sympathy. As far as a little chill in the air, Minnesotans have no comment on that.
Seriously, one support class and Sprints instead of the IMCA/WISSOTA/USRA driver sitting left of the drive shaft Midwest Modifieds would cause PA heads to explode if they think 305's are slow to run their races.
I do agree thought that for a big show like they had last night they might consider making the support class by invitation and limit the number of participants. That approach has helped up here.
I remember one WoO show in the late 90's or early 00's where the Super Stocks (kind of a limited Late Model looking machine) were the support class. 66 of them showed up and dragged the show out with one of those lap and spin, two cars stuck together taking twenty minutes to untangle kind of nights. It was brutal. I watched some of the 305 Heats last night before flipping back to Husets and the nine class Cedar Lake Legendary 100.

Once again I went to the races and enjoyed myself. I planned ahead and dressed for the weather, and I didn't make any plans for after the races so I didn't worry about what time they got over. Plus, I was free to leave at any time. Why do people always have to bitch about attending their favorite sport?
