Wow, thanks for the information. I guess it is no surprise given Roth's track record. Cold hearted, and ungrateful for driver efforts. Wish the best for Pitman and his family.

From what I read it almost sounded like pittman was the one who made the choice to split before the end of the season

Having read the announcement on the WoO I would agree with you. It made it sound like Pittman was the one who wanted to move on after Devils Bowl.

I'm biased. Been cheering for Pittman since the start of his Kahne days. Going to miss visiting Mandy in the T-shirt trailer. Just a nice family.
Question: Do we have any real reason to believe there's animosity involved here? Nether party is happy with the results this year. An amicable break seems beneficial for both parties.

Well there's more to that story. Sometimes for whatever reason things just don't work. I believe Pittman can still wheel a car around the track. Maybe this is the deal he was talking about when he said he was looking into other possibilities. Will he be the new driver for the Hefner 72 come next year ? He's definitely a guy that can maintain a car and that's right up Hefner's alley.

With all the activities this year. I would bet Roth stays on the west coast next year. KWS
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Looks like Madsen is fitting in well with Baughman Reutzel, so I doubt Ian will take the seat of the 83.

Dominic and Gio have both wheeled Roth cars before I believe. Wouldn't be of any surprise to me.

Only guessing, but maybe Pittman was already thinking of stepping away from a full time driver role, Roth lets him know he's going to fire him at the end of the year. Pittman doesn't want to finish his last full time year in a bad situation, Heffner ride opens up, voila!
I think more times than not, being a lame duck driver only leads to lousy finishes and more bad feelings. I remember Saldana's last year in the 9, Gravel and Shane in the 5, none of them had any real success after Knoxville, once it was known the team/driver was moving on.

Agree, very rarely, if ever, do you see a lame duck driver have success once the cat is out of the bag whether it is NASCAR or sprint car racing. The drivers either press or try to hard, or the crew just doesn't put their best efforts into the situation.

agree...that family stood out for some reason. maybe because i have a little one too. last year at williams grove they helped us get a photo signed by kasey kahne because he was standing on top of the souvenir trailer watching hot laps. we bought one of their red dresses for my daughter to make up for it.

Personal opinion but why would one leave Rudeen? I'm pretty sure money is no object there.

Cory would be a fool to walk away from Rudeen. You won't meet a better owner to drive for. He takes ridiculously good care of his guys and he's not a dick with unreal expectations. He understands the peaks and valleys of the sport and even though he fields a top notch team with basically no spending limit, he also understands that having fun is crucial to success. He has a young team that he's building and they keep getting better and better. He constantly says how proud he is of what they've been able to do. Cory may have the best situation in all of sprint car racing as far as hired guns go. Kevin Rudeen is a top notch individual on every level.
