Yea some of the support classes...they just arent fun to watch.  I think it would help if they put a time limit on some of em?

I would be a big fan of this. Have seen various classes during big shows here in Ohio, mainly modifieds and sport mods, that seem like it takes nearly 45mins to an hour to finish up the feature if they run prior to the main class. I think one year  maybe at Eldora at one of the Outlaw races the announcer said at the beginning of the modified feature they had 18laps or 15minutes. I think it was the biggest cheer of the night, even over announcing Jac's name.

Everything the person wrote about I fully agree with, other than some of the PPV racing which I do not care one way or the other. I am not that picky about food as I typically bring food in but I have gone to tracks where I feel safer in the first row 10feet from the fence than I do going 10rows up. I have a couple buddies that refuse going to 2 tracks here in Ohio now because of the restrooms & the insanely long nights. Like the article said, I will gladly pay an extra 5bucks every race I go to in order to never see another sport mod again.

All the tracks we have here in North Texas have good stands.   The last track I went to that didn't was Riverside in West Memphis.   The West Side (back straight) stands were pretty rough, as were the bathroom facilities.   That was several years ago, so I hope they've worked on them.   The front straight stands and bathrooms are pretty good I think, but I sat on the west side last time I was there.

While it's good to see someone who lives here in Forest Lake hoisting that trophy the choice of photo could be misleading.  Cedar Lake is a clean well maintained facility in a beautiful country setting with like new aluminum bleachers.  The photo illustrates Brooke's win and not the run down facilities mentioned in the article.  There were three classes of Sprint Cars at CLS and the show moved along without delays.

Or a spin limit? 15 laps, 15 minutes or 15 spins, whichever comes first. I've seen some good racing from hobbystocks, streetstocks, late models and once from B-mods, but I've never seen a good race in the front wheel drive class.

Big shows with support classes. Makes the show longer as time trials already take more time. No second classes for large shows and cut down the wasted time between events

No more than two classes per show for non large events  Many PA shows this year running way longer than they should. People drive quite a distance in many cases to support these tracks. When you bring kids to enjoy the racing and they are asleep for the features they miss the best racing. Get rid of all the BS until the end. Hell even taking drivers picture at Port Royal at Tusky. If folks want to see that then they can stay if not they can leave after the race.

Time Trials suck and do not make for better racing.. of course my opinion and front row winners are produced quite often. If you want to run them. Run before the show starts to set heats and then maybe shows will end earlier.   .

Rest rooms.. most tracks pretty good lincoln speedway should try to improve.. old outhouses at best.

In regards to grandstands you guys would have had plenty of ammunition on the creaky old wooden grandstands at the Hawthorne , Nevada track.  A dirt track  between nowhere and nowhere in northern Nevada the stands swayed enough to make a person seasick. Never had to sit in them but from a racer's view they were almost distracting under speed.

The joint closed about 25 years ago and a few years back had a partial reopening before the small town's fathers wouldn't give them the necessary permits.  It was located next door to a cemetary and a military ammo facility and a ditch was dug across the access road near the cemetary to keep the local kids from driving their cars out on the track and, likely, busting up a few of them.

The first thing the prospective promoters did in prepping for reopening was to burn the rotten old stands down as an excercise for the local fire department.  Was a good start. It was a fun 1/4 to run back in the day.

Some tracks do have time limits for support classes, but in most cases the time limit needs to be cut in half.

Or they just need to count all laps (meaning count yellow laps) once the green flag drops for the initial start and finish under yellow if the laps run out while under yellow.    Could even give them more laps and if they could manage to stay out of trouble they'd have a longer race.    Say a class that now gets a 15 lap feature, give them 20 but count them all.

And like already mentioned, 5 support classes is too dang many.  3-4 classes total is plenty.

Lincoln doesn't need to worry about restrooms, they got a jumbotron, c'mon man. Soon monster trucks and tractor pulls, oh yeah !

Speaking of sketchy grandstands, I miss the old Susky at least you had leg room and a racier track, restrooms.... well I just usually stepped across the road and used the parking lot.
