Good luck to DP in the future, he is a good dude, heck he's almost posse. Hope I get to see him wheel his midget a little more often, he does pretty well as a part timer in those cars.

Not really shocked. I don't think he would have stayed in the car after this year even if he wanted to. Good guy, performance just hasn't been there and dont see him getting picked up by another full time ride on the Outlaws.
Think this would be a good spot for Macedo to land if Larson can't fully fund the 2 next year

Id say Roth already has told pittman he wont be in the car next year. I doubt they put any body in it on the outlaw tour. If larson inquires about it they might though.

I have always thought Daryn Pittman was aclass act. This proves it, he is under no obligation to explain his decisions to anyone, but he felt compelled to share with the fans what he is thinking about as far as his future goes.
He more than likely is getting tired of all the traveling and wants to be closer to home. Who can blame him for that. I suspect he will drive a few select BIG MONEY Races but will do most of his racing wthin 200 miles of home.
Good luck to him and his family, he has nothing to prove to anyone as far as his driving skills is a Sprint Car. His was and still is a top 10 driver in Sprints and is deciding to wind down on the driving -- GOOD FOR HIM

The only thing I'm shocked about is that Roth hasn't already told him to hit the road-----you know, since he's so patient.
I could definitely see Macedo in the ride.

I was surprised to see Pittman in the car this year given as you said Roth's patience. This is a team that has been given the label as revolving door team. And a guy who released Gravel due to a slow start after having a pretty successful season the year prior. As one person stated, it wouldn't surprise me if he already knew he wasn't returning in 21 and probably knew options were limited quality wise.
Also wouldn't surprise me if they just run a true outlaw schedule next year with a california driver like a Gio Scelzi

Perhaps Pitman's stats havn't been up to Roths expectations both last year and this year. However he is such a class act, a fan favorite, team leader and ambassador for the sport and Roths businesses, that I bet if Pitman wanted to stay on the tour for years to come, Roth would back him. I seriously doubt that Roth informed him that he would not be back in 21.

Always best to race from someone else's checkbook.

Unlikely but I would love to see him and Heffner link up again.

Because he has expressed interest in running the woo tour. And although I dont know him personally and have never spoken to him, I've heard multiple times that the owner of the 57 isn't interested in something like that.

This is not a reflection of what I would have done as the car owner, but I was surprised Roth didn't release him after Knoxville. That seems to be him MO

Bubba was an excellent Legend car driver.Getting back to Pittman there just arent that many seats that you can just show up without a helmet full of cash.Lets be realistic without good sponsers and merchandise sales most of the cars have a negative bottom line. Darin has been a good driver and got to stay on the road for several years but youth seems to have more appeal than experience. The Roth car has had many different excellent drivers and most not for more than a year if that!

I think it'll be interesting to see how guys in their 40s do now. I think Steve, Sammy, Lance, Dude and others that have had massive success after 40 have set a bar, but with so much young talent now, it might not be a bar Schatz, Shane, Pittman and others will be able to reach.
