It was mentioned a few times last night over the loud speaker oh a major late fall race to be held at the port, it's supposed to come out this week on social media outlets... So they say, only real thing that I can come up with is the possibility of the world finals coming there? I know Charlotte was in question already, anyone else have any ideas on what it could be, just my opinion, love to see it happen, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself

I heard a rumor there last night possibly Super Dirt Week down from NY. I kind of doubt that tho.

With short track racing pretty much shut down in New York state and the fact Oswego Speedway has yet to open this year, I think it is a safe bet the announcement is Super Dirt Week is being moved to Port Royal. Still close enough to the base for most of the modified teams and fans. The WoO sprint cars are already scheduled at Port Royal for the same weekend as Super Dirt week, so it makes perfect sense. It will be a World Finals type of event minus the dirt late models.

It was heavily implied it would be "Super" which basically would narrow it down to an octoberfest style race for LM or the obvious idea that its SDW and that seems to be the concencus because I did a deep dive through tweets and it seems like people are convinced SDW is moving to PA even before ports announcement

Dirtlover is the infamous "Will Champagne" he was a shitty Outlaws cart racer and has always had a axe to grind with Larson. This dude couldn't even mud scrape his cart imo. This guy is a tool!! Just saying and now time for cocktail and watch what happens here lol
Where's my beer or scotch on the rocks? God-damn it! 40
plus years of dirt track racing in these old veins might
get me condemned by the EPA.

My hope is an Octoberfest type race like Hagerstown used to have. World Finals would suit too. Hell any race , I don't care.

Fonda 200 to Port not SDW

Looks like that is the correct answer. It is being strongly hinted on a New York Modified forum by posters that would know that Brett Deyo will run the $53,000 to win Modified show at Port Royal instead of Fonda due to New York State restrictions.

Could be anyone of the three I talked to the WOO announcer at the Grove Friday and he said the World Finals were stiii on but on very shakey ground.
USAC is still hoping to run the Four Crown but Eldora is having the Goveners Cup instad with no people with USAC being at Port this past Sat that is a possibility.
Also have heard the Super Dirt rumor so that is a good possibility, must be someone really doing their homework since on the same night they tease a big fall race and confirm Larson late model debut.
Cant rule out Fonda since Modifide race already on schedule.

$53,000 SPEED SHOWCASE WEEKEND ANNOUNCED FOR PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY OCTOBER 15-17
PORT ROYAL, PA – The ‘Speed Showcase’ has grown significantly.
After being postponed by COVID-19 regulations in March, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Speed Showcase’ at Port Royal Speedway was rescheduled to mid-October. Now, the event has reached epic proportions for big-block/small-block Modified teams.
The ‘Speed Showcase 200’ weekend will now take place Thursday-Saturday, October 15-17 at the Speed Palace, headlined by a 200-lap event offering $53,000 to win from a total purse structure of more than $125,000.
The event takes the place of the scheduled Fonda 200 weekend at Fonda (N.Y.) Speedway, originally slated for September 17-19 at the Track of Champions. Regulations in place by the New York State Democratic Party and Governor Cuomo will not allow for the 200 at Fonda this season.
BD Motorsports Media LLC will present the replacement ‘Speed Showcase 200’ at Port Royal, providing teams with a huge payday.
“With the events unfolding in New York State, it has become clear the Fonda 200 was not going to be a possibility,” STSS organizer Brett Deyo said. “We’re hoping to recreate the excitement of the Fonda 200 at a facility that is widely recognized as one of the best in the entire country.”
STSS South Region rules will be utilized for this event. The race format will be identical to that used last year in the return of the 200 at Fonda Speedway.
Crate 602 Sportsman will also be included in the event, running a 50-lap event with $2,500 reserved for the winner.
BD Motorsports Media LLC has been working with management of Port Royal Speedway to outline a full schedule of events for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday will be reserved as a rain date.
“We’re finalizing all the details currently, but we wanted to get the word out to fans and competitors to save the dates and make plans to be part of history,” Deyo said. “Just like anything else in the year 2020, we are evolving with restrictions and regulations to keep dirt Modifieds on the track and fans in the stands.”
Pricing, times and a schedule of events will be released in the coming weeks as details are finalized.
Camping and advanced ticket sales will go on sale following the completion of the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway on Monday, September 14.
The Short Track Super Series has visited Port Royal Speedway twice in its history during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Ryan Watt was the victor on October 12, 2018 over David Van Horn, Duane Howard, Brandon Grosso and Craig Von Dohren.
On March 24, 2019, Anthony Perrego bested Matt Sheppard, Mat Williamson, Danny Bouc and Brett Hearn for the triumph.

This is awesome. I can't wait for this show. I'm a sprint car guy at heart but I love me some Small Block & Big Block Modifieds. Loved the year or two (can't remember) that Port ran the small blocks as a regular division.

i like how they snuck in the "New York State Democratic Party". everybody complains about things being political...until they're the ones who make it political.
hopefully it's another opportunity for pa fans to realize how lucky they are. iowa, ohio, and new york and giving up races to pa...despite people still whining about our restrictions.

They didn't sneak anything in. Some racers make there living owning and driving race cars. Shutting down has hurt thousands of business owners. This closing states up approach is putting people out of business. What happens when these people that had business loans start to default on payments ? Cuomo doesn't have to worry about money issues. Neither does any politican. We truly haven't seen the overall affect this virus has brought down on america.
