You damn right! The rumors were true. Your beloved Report is back for a one-night stay with the cesspool called Hoseheads. Every good comeback needs an intro song and nothing is better than the New Age Outlaws bringing you out of retirement

1177 days since the last race on May 13, 2017, which was won by Mark Dobmeier. Mark’s former writer was very happy to see him there with his t-shirt trailer and walking around after his wreck at Cedar Lake. If you haven’t, please find a way to support Mark and his family. Buy some merchandise, donate directly with the Steve King Foundation, and/or buy some items at the upcoming Benevolent Auction at the Grand Forks Outlaw show in a few weeks.

What has happened since that last race?

Two Little J’s have been brought into this world. Thank God for Tod buying the joint so we can get back to our Sunday Night Shenanigans.

Pay-Per-View has taken over and there is no longer a need for this spot to fill you in with a full racing report. Highlights are posted within minutes of the race finishing. We still have great race reports coming via Bill W and his OpenWheel101.com website.

But we’re gonna try our best to fill you in on some tidbits and things we noticed throughout the night.

Red Carpet: #YungMoney was back for his second ever appearance at the track. He was looking to be one spot better from his first visit and collect the $20K check and his eighth straight All Star win. A win would have ironically made it a $57K weekend for the Silva 57.

VIP: The Midway was packed full. We even had a good talk with Savage Bad Monkey along the Midway.

MIA: Kasey Kahne, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. & the TSR 14.

- What a crowd for the first race back. The place was damn near full of 9,000 starving Spring Car fans wanting to see some bullring racing.

- Banking! It’s back baby. Very noticeable banking was placed back into the track after the acquisition. Middle of Turn 1 was almost to the top of the wall. It looked like the drivers were going for an uphill climb down the short backstretch into Turn 3.

- How about that moon rising over the backstretch during the Anthem? “Bad Ass,” as our good buddy Justin Boese Entertainment would say.

- Time Trials on the fence. Larson is so insane that he can be almost 4 tenths of a second faster than the other 35 cars signed in.

- The heat races were crazy. The first three heats had the quickest qualifier from each heat not transfer out of it. Of course, that was highlighted by the wreck for Larson in Turn 1. Glad to see he was alright and understood why they didn’t want to put another car together to start at the back of the B Main. How ‘bout TK and the Lunstra 3 stealing the last transfer in their heat? TK bounced it off the wall in the last corners, diamond it off and snuck past Hunter Percent for the spot.

- Those dashes were probably the best 4 lap races in the history of the track. Report favorite Dominc Scelzi threw a bomb at Kerry Madsen for the lead of Dash 1, but couldn’t get the dash win.

- Great American B Main Presented by Lusk Racing: Looking back and there are no notes. Sorry, Lusker.

- After some track work, we would be in for a 35 lap doozy. Kerry got out to an early lead and was saved from a lap two caution. Eliason had snuck around him before they could get back to the stripe. On lap 12, Kerry would bang it off the turn four wall and lose the top two spots to Eliason and Scelzi. Madsen wasn’t done though. He would take second from Scelzi on lap 16 and take the point a lap later using the bottom of turn four. Eliason would keep ripping the top harder and harder and was rewarded with the lead on lap 24. Scelzi took second a lap later from Madsen and would set his sights on the gorgeous Rudeen Racing 26. Dom wanted to reward the people with a taco truck in Knoxville, but couldn’t get close enough to Eliason. Eliason picked up the $20K check for his first All Star win of the year. The win also came in first ever visit to the track. In fact, he and Scelzi had never raced in my backyard before.

Tidbits:

- Good to see Rudeen rewarded in the first race back at the track. This guy does so much for the sport and it mostly goes unnoticed. It’s even better because he was there to celebrate in Victory Lane.

- Would it have been nice to be out of there a little earlier? Yep. But it was also the first night back and it’s no different than the Knoxville finishing times. I walked home and saved time. It’s never fun trying to deal with a few thousands cars leaving at the same time.

- Dusty Zomer pinched my ass on the Midway. Good to see that shit-grinning smile of his.

- Cale Thomas looked awesome in the first weekend driving the Grove 70. I’m sure those laps at Pevely equated well to his first ever appearance at Huset’s.

- Russ Hall had a great tweet that said Huset’s is the great equalizer. That concrete wall is undefeated.

- Infield berm was perfect. Guys were going full send into Turn One and diamonding it off. Eliason had that car pitched unlike any of the other 23 feature starters.

- We wanted to see The Big Unit get another large Huset’s payday. That’s gonna have to wait a month now.

- The Midway is requesting a stripe to stand on. People were standing directly behind the lower level seats. Midway Etiquette, people.

- The Outlaws are coming in a month over a holiday weekend. Grab a friend and come have some fun with us. Tod and his gang are gonna keep providing an amazing surface so you can watch the best bullring racing in the world. There is nothing better than the best Sprint Car drivers dicing it out in traffic with concrete walls.

- The Report thanks you for the requests. Now back into retirement and pound those beers like Tweeter in Varsity Blues.

Trophy Girl Grade: N/A. There were not any in Victory Lane Lane.

Go Twins.

BIG J
