Did Schatz blow an engine tonight..He's been hooked up real good lately and running strong..No one mentioned tonight to the broadcast crew what went wrong..Maybe they are instructed to say nothing..Was hoping he would have done well..

Did anyone see any smoke? Couldn't tell that on DirtVision. I'm sure if the Ford blew up they wouldn't wanna say much about it. He was definetly the car to beat though. He looked like the old dominant Donny again.

No smoke....I don't think anyone will ever know. He loaded up and left right away. He was fast....but that is very poor sportsmanship!!! He was gone before they hit 20 laps in the feature. Poor pit reporter even mentioned he was scared to find him after last time he interviewed him after he broke. Very disappointed in his actions last night!! Basically crying about what happened....you sometimes have to take the bad it is a very humbling sport!

Teams that are done for the night load up and leave early all the time, seems like your trying to make something out of nothing.

And, besides, you can probably count the number of times the 15 dnf'd, packed up, and left early on one hand - and, likely, after a saw accident removed 2-3 fingers

It's funny that Ellis and Gibby were taking about how Schatz never drops out, and that's why he had the point lead even though Sweet and Schuchart had more wins, top 5s and top 10s. They jinxed him.
Gravel was ridiculous in front of the field last night, won by 4 seconds and only had 8 laps at the end to build that lead. I wonder if Schatz would have had anything for him.

Correct, I have seen plenty of teams that either have mechanical failure or wreck early in the feature or even not make the A load up and leave early. Personally, even if its one of my favorite drivers, even the ones I know on a personal basis, I am not in all that big of a hurry to go see them after the feature is over if they have had issues. These guys sacrifice a lot of time & money into this so when things break or they don't perform well, I can understand why they want to get out of dodge early. Yes fans in many aspects are the reason they are there but also drivers are humans as well and their emotions work just the same as the fans in the stands. Can't expect everyone to always be able to put on a smile even though something bad has happened. Sometimes its best to let people just be upset and this is coming from someone who does not care for Donny Schatz winning races.

I have heard too many interviews with him.....he cries way too much!!! Just like last night. Things didn't go his way so he left without saying anything. He should have done a quick interview. Sometimes things like this build character......just saying!!!
The pit reporter was afraid to talk to him...sometimes you have to be gracious even in defeat!! Schatz never is gracious when he is not running good!!

Usually the announcer will say something if they see smoke, and I didn't hear that either. Thinking maybe an ignition problem or maybe the rear end broke...

Boohoo... "poor sportsmanship" my ass
He was probably frustrated & pissed off, happens to the best of us at times
I've talked to Donny after WG races & he was always cool, despite being booed.... I have nothing but respect for the guy

So.. crying your upset, leaving without crying your upset, maybe YOU have other issues.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Magnetos fail in Chevy clone blocks too. I say clone because these are all aftermarket blocks. It's not like anyone runs to the dealer to purchase a Sprint Car engine. The Chevy vs Ford dispute in Sprint Car engines is overrated. NASCAR is for those who are big on brand loyalty.
