HOW ABOUT THE WAY BENNY WOODS KICKED THEIR BUTTS LAST NIGHT .THE CROWED WENT CRAZY..THEN THOSE CREEPS  TOOK THE RACE AND THE MONEY FROM HIM, BECAUSE OF ONE OF THEIR OWN MISTAKES IN NOT WRITING SOMTHING INTO THE RULE BOOK ,AFTER THEY HAD ALL AGREED IT WAS LEGAL..ILL BET THEY DONT HAVE MANY CARS AT THAT RACETRACK FROM NOW ON..

Who, what......are you talking about taxi cabs or tuna boats as i call them(modifieds). If so who gives two shits i want more Larson vs. the sprint car world stuff! Racing has been yearning for some good old fashion rivalries and we have found it with Shatz, Larson and Sweet. "F "the tin top stuff

Where's my beer or scotch on the rocks? God-damn it! 40
plus years of dirt track racing in these old veins might
get me condemned by the EPA.

I heard it was an illegal block? I didn't even think this class had rules to tell you the truth... it was a great race and I was happy to see the increased car count. Ben earned the win with the late race restart. I was excited for the team. Felt like they got robbed in tech But never heard exactly what was illegal. the crowd enjoyed the race for sure. The track absolutely shot themselves in the foot AGAIN. I have been hoping this wingless weekly class at Osky would take off but now I'm guessing it's good as dead come next year.

IMCA rant but adds to the story: They did it with the IMCA sport mods earlier in the year with the same tech guy. Winner was disqualified for illegal left front spring (too long as it was a rear spring) and then they gave him back the win and said just don't do it next week. Well this guy has won 80 percent of the races at this track in sportmods for the last 4-5 years and was likely causing the dwindling car counts as other tracks have been up. The following weeks the car count was closer to half. So long story short it's a moving target with tech guy at Osky for their weekly show. First ones legal then they are not. Then one is illegal but hey it's ok just don't do it again... come on

Start up wingless sprints that race Oskaloosa (Southern Iowa Speedway) weekly on Wednesdays. As alluded to we usually only see 5-6 cars from locals. Last night they had 10 or 11 and have had close to a dozen at its conception. The class and thought may be as good as dead after last night.

And all this time, the Wisconsin wingLESS crate class is flourishing, getting between 33 and 40 cars a night so far this year.

Which is exactly what I was hoping for really! I think that's a neat class you have up there. Biggest downfall to this class is they only run on a half mile.

Still thinking on this though probably no one cares. So most don't want to race the half mile but also others hate it because Hughes wins with twice the motor and half the skill every week. This Wisconsin wingless crate class runs 602s right? Is that the only option? Seems like a good cheap rule which would totally control the costs except for cheater crates even though traditionally I hate crate racing. On an entry level EXTREMELY LOW budget class this is likely the answer. Anyhow carry on.

GM604 engines aire the spec motors.  There is another option if you build your own motors but there are severe limitations, such as being chipped at 6800 and limited to 450 horses.  The 604 is chipped at 6700.  I see these guys and gal 98% of their races and it is very competitive, albeit slower than wings.  I think they are extremely entertaining.  This classs is on very steady ground and growing.  I'd bet that next year or even later this year that they average 40 easy.  Home track is Wilmot and they seem to get more cars there than when they visit other tracks.  I do not believe that they race any half miles.  This class is a great substitution for mods.

Maybe they should run them at Eldon too! Wednesday night can't help the car count either.

Agreed but Eldon just needs to run in general. I know they didn't run this year until they got their insurance money for COIVD. They had some bigger concerts this year scheduled for the fair and since they backed out on the concerts insurance paid some of those fees. being worried that having racing in the limbo time between cancelling the concert early to be proactive and getting paid they didn't want to jepordize their payments saying the events could have went on. To me Eldon, Osky, and possibly Bloomfield could race alternate Saturdays and have a neat schedule or points fund to those who follow the circuit. Possibly keeping some Osky specials on Wednesdays.

The track posted "updated" wingless sprints rules this past week after this deal. What better time than before their season championship night this Wednesday... haha perfect timing. O well. Ready for the FRC and Ultimate Challenge. TMAC Keep doing your thing promoting should be a fun time.
