The Pennsylvania Governor announce these new restrictions earlier this week:
OTHER EVENTS AND GATHERINGS
Events and gatherings other than those in businesses in the retail food services industry must adhere to these gathering limitations:
Indoor events and gatherings of more than 25 persons are prohibited.
Outdoor events and gatherings of more than 250 persons are prohibited.
The maximum occupancy limit includes staff.
Pennsylvania's recently elevated statewide virus numbers have been driven in large part by increased spread in the Pittsburgh area, where officials attribute the spike to younger people and others congregating in bars and restaurants.

Was wondering the same. So far, other than the Selinsgrove incident, he's turned a blind eye on dirt tracks. Under the latest restrictions, technically the tracks wouldn't be allowed to have very many fans(if any) considering there will be well over 250 people in the pits alone. I haven't seen any PA tracks altering their schedules so I'm assuming it will be business as usual. Hagerstown shut down for the season after being warned by their governor after their speedweek race. That's Maryland though. People refuse to listen to the recommendations of medical and scientific professionals so this pandemic is going to continue to grow and spread indefinitely until a vaccination is developed, which may not even happen. The misinformation campaign of the conspiracy theorists has dumbed down the public to the point that wearing a damn mask in public is a political issue instead of basic common sense. That's the situation we're in right now... sadly.

say 40 cars, 5 per team... thats 200... I guess it can be done, but unless you have TV money covering things its really not doable.. Sadly, this may be the beginning of what we probably all feared would happen..... MLB and the NFL are starting to look a little rattled... The Washington Nationals found out this week they don't have any place to play because of shutdown guidelines. They are looking for "alternative sites" (that sound familiar?).... college football looks to be doomed... that track in Huset that just started back up might find every race car in the country setting in the pits come opening night....maybe they should make it opening month !!!!

The restriction has always been 250 in the green phase and the tracks were able to operate. Ohio has been limited to 10 this whole time and tracks have opened (though Sharon got shut down after this past weekend but their county is in the 'red' for Ohio so that is probably the reason, everywhere else is still going). Pretty sure they have found a workaround to open.

Waiting to see what happens in Texas. All our tracks are open, but the virus has really ramped up here in the last few weeks too.

I called the Outlaws ticket number today & asked if Lernerville was still happening as a group of us were thinking about going over there next week. They said that as of that time everything was still on as scheduled. Same with their PA shows the following weekend.

The misinformation of the conspiracy theorists has dumbed down the public?? Maybe it's time to take your mask off while socially distanced from everyone and get some fresh oxygen to your brain. It's pretty fair to say that no matter what side of the spectrum you are on there has been disinformation spread. Heck even the foremost expert on infectious disease flip flops on things. If masks/face coverings were the solution to all of this then everyone should go out and live their lives without restriction wearing one. Clearly that's not possible or it would be the one solution for everyone. So as a doctor once told me, wash wash wash your hands and don't touch your face. If you feel uncomfortable about the situation you are in then you need to go home or stay home. Pretty simple. There is no conspiracy about it. Fact is who really knows what truths are being told and what is a lie. Sadly this has been turned into a political nightmare that might not ever be resolved. A vaccine is a long shot at best and if thats our best solution we are in trouble. So please don't lecture about conspiracy theories and politics on what is a racing board. The public gets enough of that all day long. You dont know any more than the next guy to spread useless rhetoric like that.

A doctor is telling you right now to wear a mask. Will you listen?
Docs and scientists like Fauci "flip flop" becauss we're learning as we go. New studies come out and our approach changes. We're willing to admit we're wrong if it will make us better.
Wolf has done nothing to enforce his guidelines. If PA has another surge...I'm curious to see if the people who criticized his closures will criticize his opening. He will never be able to tighten up restrictions again so I've been telling patients we're essentially just letting this burn through and do what it wants. It's up to individuals to protect themselves since nobody is going to look out for you. This could turn out to be his biggest mistake. For all the whining sprint car fans did...he has let us completely off the hook for almost 2 months.

Unfortunately, this is PERFECT. I know sooooo many that have this attitude, and I am a friggin sheep to these asswipes because I wear a mask where required. The non mask wearers are going to be the ones that scream the loudest when EVERYTHING gets shutdown AGAIN......It's coming quick.......

Very fair post, of course you will get attacked for it. Hopefully revhypocrite will not bring his Colorado BS into it, on one thread he demands that we stay on a racing topic, on other threads he goes political. Funky ole dude.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Wolf shouldn't shut down the dirt tracks period. Besides he has no power to do so - see Lincoln Speedway when he told them not to race the Saturday after Memorial day.
Lets go racing!
There isn't anyone telling you that you have to go to the races.....stop trying to contol what other people do, you will be a happier person.
The spike in covid is not in the central PA area. If it were not for the Phila and Pittsburg area...PA would have very few cases of covid. Why punish all of us in the state?
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I myself debate the effectiveness of masks, but I wear one out in public anyway. One of the reasons I debate the effectiveness is the number of people not wearing them, and the dumbasses walking around with their nose sticking out of it. Other people are wearing masks that clearly don't come close to fitting them.
Another problem down in Texas is the young people. I don't know if it's a national trend or not, but some young people in Texas are having "Covid parties". Basically someone will test positive, and then they'll have a party and invite other young people over to see who gets sick and who doesn't. I just read a news account yesterday of a 30 year old in San Antonio that just died from one of these parties. Just goes to show you the arrogance and stupidity of the younger crowd. I know they're not all that way, but enough of them are that it's a problem down here.
