This is interesting, and good news if this technology actually works.   My main questions is what if someone is asymptomatic but still has the virus?   Does this type of scanner detect that too?    

If this works as they want it to in Wisconsin, I look for it to be the norm at large spectator crowd events.  It is good to see the World of Outlaws on the cutting edge of COVID testing technology.  I am waiting to hear it announced that this is what they will do for the Ironman Weekend in August.

Snake Oil

I did a little research on this, and figured out why it's supposed to work.   I didn't know this, but even asymptomatic people who have coronavirus have diminished oxygen levels.    This machine apparently detects that in a 5 second scan, so that can lessen the chance that someone who has the virus winds up in the stands sitting behind you.   

Can't imagine going a great distance to attend a show to get the red light, perform the up the nose test because let's face it your committed and then be negative. I'd be pissed to no end. Or say your asymptomatic like many are and they say go home. I typically do a great deal of traveling but make it difficult for me and I can find other things to do. Found that out in March and April. I'll continue to support local racing much harder now than events like these. Im a pansie so I'd probably go home before doing a nose swab if within an hour from home. Still in disbelief how much the flu has torn this country apart politically and financially. 

Agreed, it will suck big time for anyone who travels a long way to get there and then gets flagged.  In my case I'll be driving 12 hours from Dallas with three other guys, so it would create multiple issues for me if it happened.   Gotta say that the technology does seem to be pretty cool though.   I'm really curious how many people might get flagged at the race in Wisconsin.    

Get tested before you leave home?

Possible though they won't just test anyone around here without reasonable symptom. Still wouldn't guarantee you wouldn't fail the walk through test. The test sounds interesting but what if nearly 1/4 of the people failed but almost all passed the actual test? What if no one failed? I'll be curious to see how it actually works from first hand attendees.

If this thing worked to detect Covid-19 you would see them in front of every federal building and hospital. Plus this Co. stock would go through the roof, but no, they are taking it to a dirt car race because you know CEO's go to sprint car races all the time. It's the place I go when I want to rub elbows with Fortune 500 leaders. LOL

Actually, I don't blame you at all for being skeptical.   That's some of the same things I was thinking.   Looks to me like the airlines oughta be all over this thing, because if it worked then that should make flying safe again too shouldn't it?    It is new technology though, and I think it could be a really good thing in the long run.
