Bizarre that 2 huge pieces of news, 1) Husets finally being sold to Tod Quiring no less and 2) The Outlaws will be on LIVE TV for 2 weeks starting this Saturday gets crickets, but the debate about Port Royal's surface and Kyle Larson's fomer salary rages on....

It is awesome news. Somebody that knows Tod a little told me this morning that he told ol Chuckles that he has land in Lennox and Brandon. So if he didnt accept a fair offer he would build his own track and render that land and track worthless. I love it. I hope that got him a discount of what I hear is likely 6 million. I guess that is what the offer was at the fake acution Chuckles held back whenever that debocle was. Too bad that it wasnt sold then since it is likely selling now for the same price once offered. Regardless, celebrate this news and be excited....but not too excited because anything that involves Chuckles is never a done deal until the ink dries. Even then I hope a really good lawyer for Tod combs over the fine print so that crook and idiot cant somehow keep a piece of it or get it back if ____ happens etc. YEAH TODD Q. F CHUCK B. LETS GO RACING AGAIN IN BEAUTIFUL BRANDON SD

Scary times to be buying a racetrack. I'm guessing Chuck got a decent deal but it's not gonna be the 8-9 million he was originally looking for. Hoping for the best for racing in the Midwest. Very curious to see what kind of weekly show can get started here again after a few long years off.

As the release said this morning, nobody is saying anything until the deal officially closes with Huset's. When it does, champaign will certainly flow in Sioux Falls, and pretty much everywhere else in the upper Midwest! It's been an exhausting few years... if/when it closes, there will be lots of joy, but just as much relief!
I think there is less enthusiasm about the WoO being on live TV because most of the diehard fans have already been watching the WoO (and All Stars and USAC) live for quite some time on DirtVision, Flo, SpeedShift, etc. It's pretty cool that they're on Live TV so a bigger audience can see what we already know to be true. It will hopefully attract more sponsors for those that really need it. For me personally though, it's very cool... but not a huge deal. If I'm not alone on that, that would explain the crickets.

The fact that people still think 50% capacity is max allowed at a venue such as a racetrack... Not exactly a sellers market in the entertainment world. Straight economics.

That would be awesome if that is true, and I hope it is. I think many on here said that if they hit the lottery that they would do basically the same thing, buy land near Husets and build their own track to drive down the value of the market price. Looks like this timing was somewhat perfect for Tod if this turns out to be true. Pandemic leaves a majority of people to not make any significant purchases or financial risks so it limits the buying pool even more significantly for Chuck. It is pretty funny that after all that has happened in the past 4-5 years with Husets that Tod is the one that could end up buying it.

Hell yeah! I hope this goes through and Tod gets a good track prep team. When husets sets up right, it's a great place to watch a race.

Plan for the future. Not for today.
