I'm confused. I thought that the WoO were racing on the 6th. I don't see how Sheldon would be at an All Star race when the Outlaws are running the same night. Also, is Kyle Larson runnig a true outlaw schedule or is he running the WoO? From this I'm guessing the former.

Sheldon will be racing with the WoO at Beaver Dam. It looks like Larson is going to run everywhere which makes sense because he's already 140 pts out of the lead and with the shortened season he has little to no chance of making that up.

Is 140pts a lot? Serious question. In some point formats its a point a spot so 140 positions would be a big hill to climb. In others it can be as high as 5 or 10pts a spot where I would think it's pretty minimal thus far. I don't really track points all that much. Just isn't that important to me. It only seems to enhance the last race of the season and that's just if it's close. I want to see a good race and love the not tied down schedule some people run.

Didn't Knoxville get the OK to run this weekend? Just wondering because I see Terry McCarl listed on that add as well and would think he'd be running Knoxville. I'm guessing maybe the poster was printed before Iowa gave racing the thumbs up.
PPV racing has been pretty awesome so far with larger than normal fields but that will likely end now that more tracks are opening.

It's pretty substantial with the WoO because each position (except for the winner) is separated by 2 pts. So Larson would have to make up about 70 positions on Schuchart. That might be doable if it were just the 1s he had to deal with, but he's also roughly the same amt of points behind Sweet and about 100 behind Schatz. He would have to be incredibly consistent and elite to make up that point differential with the shortened schedule they are facing this year.

Good info. Heck ya I'd agree those ahead are too good and consistent for not one of them to probably stay ahead. Go run a true outlaw schedule and go for wins!

This season has been a moving target at every step of the way, that's for sure.
And with no required pre-entry for this particular swing of events, is why I use verbiage in publicity like this: "including headliners such as" when attempting to compile a driver roster...so you don't get pidgeon-holed into a corner.
And a Series is in the same spot. Come race night there will be 5 drivers that you think will be there that aren't and 10 that are you didn't expect.
That's exactly what happened at our Sprint Car Bandits event this past Saturday too - as with everything going on state-by-state, everything is subject to change these days.
Tracks are booking, postponing and revamping schedules it seems daily this season.
Everyone just has to adjust to the fluidity of the situation as things develop, and so far, it hasn't really been a big deal.
Most fans and racers are just happy to have some sort of semblance of normality after the relatively uncharted waters of 2020.
One thing is for certain though, I don't think the shenanigans of 2020 are finished yet. I'm just enjoying one event at a time and not worrying about what happens/doesn't happen down the road, as there's nothing a person can do about it anyway.

That makes sense. You're lucky you can have races. In my neck of the woods it's looking like the season is a lost cause.

Personally, I am shocked he is not staying with the Outlaws. 140 pts. is a lot, yes. But, I think we are 6-8 races from where 140 points is "out of it." (even with the shortened schedule) Just my opinion though. I know things would have to go his way and a couple of others would have to have a run of bad nights. But, it happens. And, we all know he is capable of a podium every single night.
Also, I'm assuming he's going to be at Knoxville in 10 days? Not knocking him, just surprised he is not sticking with the outlaws.

When people treat you like an outlaw might as well run a true outlaw schedule. If he isn't a platinum member he won't get all of the travel money. Why not run a comfortable schedule and be competitive everywhere you go instead of going through a points grind. I think he will be ok.

I don't believe Larson can become a Platinum member with the Outlaws because he raced (and won) with the All-Stars at East Bay after the Outlaw season had kicked off; and since the Outlaws do not run at East Bay he would have had to get permission from WRG. Of course all of that happened in Florida in February when he was still a Cup Series driver.

I can't disagree with that. Although, I'm just surprised as he has always commented on wanting to run the full-time WoO schedule.

I'm not being a smartass by saying this, I actually don't know. If he is not a Platinum member, he can still win the points, and get paid points position money, correct? Is the Platinum for the tow money only? (I know "only" is a bad choice of word as this is a lot of money for these teams to roll down the road)

Just to clarify on this, are you guys talking about Sheldon Haudenschild or Larson here? Larson is 140 points back, but Sheldon is 138 points back according to their current points. I would think Sheldon would be sticking with the WoO. Larson, on the other hand, who knows?
