Pushin' the envelope in Central PA !
It is likely they have a law tean ready to respond if and when Gov. Wolf finds a PSP barrack or a Sheriff's Department willing to step in at Lincoln and/or Selinsgrove. It's going to be interesting and I'd bet that both places race.

Political argumentative posts will probably be edited or deleted.

Cool! Just what we need- another thread started that will turn into another heated political hissing match thread. Let me just say this right up front: I don't care where you stand on these issues. I just want you to know that I think your mother wears army boots. So there!

I can't wait for more responses from people who do not reside in PA, who wouldn't be attending these races anyway.
DING DING DING, we have atleast one winner already.
I went to Lincoln on Monday and was happy to be there. All of my friends that I had seen at the speedways when the China virus started are remarkably still alive. I'll go back to Lincoln again Saturday if they race.

Yep, it would be nice if there were simply forum options similar to "like" and "don't like". When I posted the link for information purposes only, I suspected that a couple of people would turn it into a political theater event. Hopefuly they resist the urge to comment politically. As an admin I can delete posts or lock a thread which Idid on the one from last weekend. If I had not been out at camp with no wifi I would have cleaned it up earlier.

My comment wasn't aimed at you. It was aimed at the idea that wherever everybody's least favorite subject comes up, the same people form the same sides to fight the exact same battle as the day before. Doesn't seem to matter if it's here, some other social media contact point or the water cooler at work.
I was a moderator on a forum for a couple years. There is no more thankless job, unless it's the guy cleaning the restrooms at a racetrack. Thank you for taking on the job.

I was at Lincoln for the last race before lockdown too..
The night before, dancing up close & personal with plenty of different women in Philly
Didn't get sick, got lucky (not THAT kind of lucky, tho... )

Is it possible if they do go forward and try to "make a statement" its the wrong statement? Perhaps hurting themselves for the rest of this season given this current situation. Or possibly if something in the future happens this comes back to haunt them? Might not even be Covid related but as result of "making a statement" now they pay later. Just a thought. I want racing as much as everyone right now but I also want it to be there in the future at these local venues.

I agree. As many times as a racetrack gets complaints about noise, dust and traffic, it would look like it would want a healthy relationship with the local authorities. Purposely going against the authorities and their recommendations seems very short sighted. Also, can you imagine the fiasco if the authorities shut down the gates with all the racers and fans in route?

In response to Lincoln running on Memorial day Wolf put out a statement. In that statement he mentioned any enforcement would be up to local law enforcement agencies. I'm reading that as NOT being the Pa State Police as they are not considered local. And that only the sheriffs office or township police would have to enforce or not. And most of them in Pa counties that have dirt tracks have already said they will not enforce any order from Wolf. So I think he is just blowing hot air but has no leg to stand on at this point.

Ya know this whole Covid-19 lockdown has gone way too far. These governers are destroying the economy and the people. When it was first done it was to Stop the spreadin of the virus so the Hospitals didnt get over run. Well THAT NEVER HAPPENED, there is no reason to keep this lockdown going at all. I know for one I am an adult, I can decide for myself if I want to go somewhere or not. It is not the GOVERNMENTS JOB to protect me from a virus or anything for that matter. I am more than capable to make a decision on taking a risk or not.
This whole thing is a total POWER GRAB. It has gone way to far and it is time WE AS AMERICAN CITIZENS to say enough is enough and take our Communities States and Country back and thell the Government to fuck theselves. The Govt isnt feeding my family or children. I am and Im fucking fed up with all this bullshit.
LETS GO RACING --- LETS GO AMERICA --- LETS ALL GIVE A BIG MIDDLE FINGER TO SOCIALISM/ COMMUNISM and the Goverers that keep pushing their will on us. Its time we got our RIghts back

In my mind, whenever I read posts that have words or phrases capitalized for emphasis, I always envision them as movie titles and what the movie would be like.
I'm bored and I've got the time. Hopefully you've got the beer....
"THAT NEVER HAPPENED"- A suspenseful thriller/whodunnit from the 80's. Michael Douglas works as a executive in the burgeoning tech industry. He is the prime suspect in the brutal slaying of young woman who's star is on the rise and once worked as his protege. While out on bail he proceeds to try and find out who framed him. During this time he teams up with a female private detective, played by Linda Fiorentino, to unravel the scheme. Are there steamy sex scenes in dimly lit rooms? It's the 80's and Michael Douglas, what do you think? Rated R.
"GOVERNMENT'S JOB"- Steve Carell plays James Oscar Byron, a lead political analyst for a cable news network. While trying to increase his profile and fame he angers some powerful people who systemicatically eradicate his occupation, character, and family. Using his faith and dogged determination he attempts to find answers. Rated PG-13.
"POWER GRAB"- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars as FBI agent Melvin "Ribeye" Roundtree as the one time world's number one ranked powerlifter who had to step down for reasons unknown. His no-nonsense approach to the job make people question whether he has any life outside of work at all. When the FBI figures out a there's an Iranian powerlifter who's the pivotal character to the plot to bomb the World's Strongest Man competition, Ribeye is sent in undercover. Will Ribeye be able overcome his former powerlifting demons? Rated R.
"WE AS AMERICAN CITIZENS"- This is a period piece set in 1787 Philadelphia during the Constitutional Convention. It features an excellent ensemble of Leonardo DiCaprio as Alexander Hamilton, Peter Dinklage as James Madison, Paul Giamatti as Benjamin Franklin, Josh Brolin as George Mason, and Harrison Ford as George Washington. This will detail the trials and tribulations of how our nation's constitution was created. Notable Oscar buzz surrounds this picture. Rated PG-13.
"LET'S GO RACING"- A coming of age tale depicting the bond between a father and son who are marathon runners. Kevin Walker (Elijah Wood) was a US alternate in the marathon for the '96 games in Atlanta who was beaten by a nose at the finish. He lets the loss curtail his career, and his personal life falls out of control. He seeks redemption when Kevin Jr shows that he has the ability to be the best marathoner in the country and begins to train him. As Kevin Jr's journey begins to mirror his own previous one, the duo must show the strength and resolve to keep on going. Rated PG.
"LET'S GO AMERICA"- A behind the scenes documentary about the rise and fall of the mid-2000's ABC sitcom "Ugly Betty". Cast and crew alike will share experiences and stories as viewers will learn the real story about beauty, betrayal, success, and failure of the show. Made for TV.
"LET'S ALL GIVE A BIG MIDDLE FINGER TO SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM"- This movie was supposed to come out in 1986 as the sequel to "Lets All Give A Big Middle Finger to Ho Chi Minh". From the creators of the "Naked Gun" series and "Police Squad!" comes a film starring Leslie Nielsen as a bumbling CIA agent who is sent undercover to the Kamchatka Peninsula. He is sent so that he can infiltrate a Soviet missile base that has plans to launch nukes at Los Angeles in three days. It's his most dangerous mission yet. Sight gags, puns, and pratfalls are abound in the ludicrous farce that is sure to make you laugh out loud. Rated PG-13.
