34 raceway in West Burlington says they can race but still no crowd as of today yet. So for them, no races. Now idk if their county is a hot spot county or what but come on it's time. Kim gets it and she's moving forward at a better pace than most. I still won't get my hopes up for Saturday just yet. Maybe another weekend of going to Missouri for more races for this guy who knows. Saw Quincy is going to move all operations to Moberly, MO (RCR) for the foreseeable future. Hope they host a sprint show down there! Man I'm glad I don't live in communist controlled Illinois. Sadly civil disobedience and unrest is coming to oppressive states such as those.

It's getting bad across the river.  Somethings gotta give.  I've never seen so many tense people in my life

Ok, now this time Iowa is opening all counties starting Friday. Race tracks included.

Now - Let's Goooooooooooooooooo Racing. I hope to be sitting my butt in Knoxvilles aluminum bleachers Saturday.

You can sit in Knoxville Saturday.  I'll be wishing I was sitting in Jackson Motorplex while watching 70 some cars spin around there.

A couple tracks in our area that opened last Saturday with no spectators had more people in the pits than normal.Pit passes are usually double grandstand admission so that helps financially .Tracks like Knoxville with large spectator area can have people  social distancing and still have a normal crowd. The PPV was a sucess and they were careful to follow the rules. This will be a test to see if people can follow the rules Gov KIm Reynolds is trying to put in place to open the state back up Seem to be conflicting interpretations of the guidlines.

Family has been racing IMCA events in Iowa and Missouri and your right pit passes at least double, maybe even triple that of usual. Locally I'm hearing Oskaloosa is planning for start weekly races next week with no fans and I believe no stream. Completely back gate funded (pretty much the loop hole now). Also on limited seating events are price gouging a little. Now I don't know if it's to make ends meet and make the event successful due to less overall fans but ticket prices are higher and with more people in the pits these local shows that pay peanuts to win are making bank.

So aren't the fans in the stands not the whole point of racing?

Having a track open to racing with just the competitors and pit crews with no PPV seems rather strange.  Not like those local teams are racing to make money to survive and feed their families. In fact I would argue that most are losing less money by the car sitting in the shop.

Getting tired of her announcing re-opening things but wait, we still have these restrictions. Thats not re-opening.

I can get my haircut at a salon where I am 1 foot from the person but I can't sit outside to watch a freaking race? Thats just stupid.

I have a way higher risk factor just going to work everyday than going the races.

Magnolia Motor Speedway here in MS is running super DLMs and sportsman DLMs tonight.  No fans in stands.  I'm SO bummed.  It looks like a nice track from what I've seen just driving past.

Enven though there are no sprinters, I wanted to go see the place and watch a damm race. Ever since ive moved from PA - I've been to the races once.

Wonder if i can get a pit pass...hmmmm

It sucks, and there may be some logic involved in the arguments, but we had better get used to it for 2020.  It's going to be this way all summer unless the cases fall dramatically from the heat and humidity.  The logic in the haircut vs. the racetrack is you're not going to spread something to 1000's of people in the salon.  Maybe dozens.  When I think about the Nationals in August, it really makes you reconsider.  Think about the bathroom lines, ticket lines, concession lines, shoulder to shoulder people, the Dingus, etc.  If 20 people showed up to the Nationals carrying this thing, there would be thousands of people leaving with it.

The only things I have not cancelled for 2020 are my fishing trip to Northern Wisconsin in July and the Knoxville Nationals---only because I already bought the tickets to the Nationals and we get credit for 2021 if it doesn't go off as scheduled.  And, I'm sorry to say, I have finally accepted the fact that the 2020 Knoxville Nationals are a long shot at best.  frown   My fishing trip should be just fine.  15,000 acres of social distancing.

As to the pricing where fans are allowed, I bought 3 tickets for Pevely outlaw show on the 23rd.  Cost was $40 each.  The typical pricing for a $10k to win outlaw show at Pevely is like $30 or $32.  A little higher this time but not ridiculous given they are only able to sell 700 tickets.  Track will get some on the back gate as well of course.

Now lets hope the Outlaws can get that Dubuque Speedway date in soon. The pits at the location are very small. However, if there are no fans and they use the field off of turns 3 and 4 as pits they could easily get a large number of cars and crews in. Hopefully this Knoxville date opens up more

I have been in Facebook contact with a Dubuque County Fairboard member trying to determine the status of this show and make travel arrangements.   They have not heard anything as of Monday.

If it comes down to a "no fans" show,  they can use almost all of the paved midway area (where the carnival rides go) for the pit area.....that is what they used for the big snowmobile race they had over the winter and those transporters looked just as big as the WoO setup.

Knoxville season opener is planned for May 30th now. That is ONLY if the state allows fans to attend by then.

WoO just posted entry information for driver signup for Pevely.  It says they can take 62 entries.  I believe they initially indicated 48 car max.  I attended late model show at Pevely last Saturday & there were around 150 cars total between 3 classes & limited fans.

Hoping for the Dubuque race to go with fans----I know I'm wishing for a lot.  That's by far the closest Outlaw race to home for me.

It looks like Illinois race track operators are taking proactive steps to get back in business.

Not being a smartass----I seriously want to know.  Did this get ok'd with Pritzker or is this something they are going to propose to him?  When asked about fall sports for Illinois high schools, he said he was doubtul they could be held with crowds.  I am not sure if this has been cleared and approved or they are just showing us their proposal.

Yes, welcome to the USSA.  Pritzker is in the same catagory as PA's Wolf.

Remember we can travel.....just not you.  Talk about your double standards.  Stay quarteened and don't you dare go to work.
