I agree sir and well said by the way. As in my first remark on this topic about "when you race on someone else's dime", you are not in total control and you abide by the dime's owner's wishes. Step over that line and you are gone and so are the dimes in your pocket.
|
There are at least a few of us who understand this. It isn't about the morality, and what athletes have done worse----it is about THIS situation. And in this situation, Kyle is about as screwed as you can get--he has no leverage and his talent will not make ANY difference.
He will have to find a wealthy business owner or corporation that does not care about their public image or backlash killing revenue. Those types of businesses are what we call "unicorns"----as they only exist in fairy tales.

I am white and i am Canadian. But with the life education on racism i have recieved from my georaphical location, real live interaction with people who are not white, our out of reality responses to anything like this i would say with 99% confidence, and this may only apply in my area with my local Indians, natives, first nations, aboriginal, Cree people, thatvthe only people crying racist and making a big deal of it are white folks trying to paint a picture of not being racist themselves.
I know I posted earlier that there is little diversity in my country. The big cities are diverse but i only go to one once every 5 years so its out of mind and the local people who may be considered a race other than caucasian didnt enter my mind because i don't see them as different.
This is likely a bigger deal to white people who want to exalt themselves and make money.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I try not to respond to these typse of situations, but I feel for some reason compelled to at this time. I dont care who gets pissed off or who agrees with this, so Im just going to say what needs to be said. A little backround first. When I was 6 years old My father got a Contract Job at the NASA BASE on Wallops Island Virginia. He was a machinist and was building Nose Cones for Rockets to test the Aurora Boriallis. It was the coolest thing at that age to see well over 10 rocket launchs.
After living there On Chincoteague Island for a few months my dad found out that there was no Little League baseball or Pop Warner Football. He singlehandedly did a fund raiser on the Island for Both Youth sports clubs and Started the Leagues there.
Being From New Jersey and being Catholic on a predominately Southern baptist Island wasnt easy but we survived. I witnessed something I thought at the time ws over in the USA. It was in the 70's and "BUSSING LAWS" were passed. They wanted to Bus Black Chidren over the 7 bridge causeway to Chincoteague Island for school from the mainland. Well the Chintiggers (Island People on Chincoteague) were not going to let their God Fearing Southern Baptist white children go to school with Black Children. So the real hard core Islanders actually put Explosives under all 7 bridges connecting the Main Land to the Island. They flat out told Virginia if 1 School bus attempts to cross the Bridges they would blow them up. Its a shame to say this but The busses NEVER CAME.
When my father started Little League he made sure EVERY PERSON KNEW THAT THE BEST WOULD MAKE THE TEAM didnt matter if you were Black White purple green boy or girl. The best players will be on the team. Well it worked out that he more or less had an all Black team. There was protests, there was white parents that would sit in the middle of the field so the games could not be played, and death threats on my Parents lives. Needless to say we moved off the Island and to the main land. I could go on and on with what I saw as a very young child, but I thnk you get the picture. I will say this it was a very eye opening experience that even today I am grateful to have lived through. It made me a better person and it is something I am proud to have lived through. I will say this from the little bit I shared on here, it was much worse than what I have said, this is not the place to say it though.
What is going on today IMOVHO is nothing. This is NOT RACISM this is just the outcome of a pussified society that has been brain washed by the Liberal Media and the Liberal Govt. What Kyle Larson said was not insulting or racist. He used an expression that I hear everyday at work from my Black Colleagues. The majority of the guys I work with that are Black even said it is not racist in what Kyle Larson Said. In fact the majjority of them said it is embarrasing to them because this how RACISM is loosing the battle. To them it is the serious Racist Infractions that need to be addressed because just saying the N word doesnt make it racist. It is the way it is said and the context that it was used. people need to stop with all the Hes racist bullshit because what people call Racism today isnt Racism. It is a way to make someone feel bad or to make someone something they are not.
It is litterally making racism a joke in this society, especially if you have lived and saw what REAL RACISM is.

I really thought your story was going a different way until it went off the rails in the last 2 parts. I won't argue with you about what is racist enough and what is not---it seems like you have a pretty good idea of where you draw the line---as long as explosives aren't involved, there is no true racism, right?
Here's what I do know:
1. Chip Ganassi Racing is a business
2. Nascar is a business
3. Every major sponsor Kyle Larson had was a business
You can blame media, liberals, pussification, or whatever you want. Those businesses don't want to be negatively impacted by words. Morality aside. They were protecting their product from negative publicity.

Just wondering...I wonder what Mr. Larson would do as a race team owner if his World of Outlaws driver used the N-word on a national broadcast, no matter what the context was.

No get real, those Busisnesses are scared to death because if they Didnt fire Larson the LIBERAL MEDIA TWITS would talk shit everyday, day in and day out until they did fire Kyle Larson. They caved to a assbackwards Society where they claim to be Forgiving and Forgetting unless your a White Man or a Percieved White Man in Larsons case. But we should forgive and forget an Black actor who claimed to be accosted by a WHITE MAN wearing a MAGA HAT when in reality he set it all up with his friends, thats ok because that goes along with the LIBERAL AGENDA to destroy the Native Born White Male in America. Tell me Im wrong because that is the reality in America

What the hell? You have some major issues when it comes to race. That rant could be straight out of Stormfront or some other white supremacist site. Jussie Smollett was arrested. It wasn't "ok." That being said, what does that have to do with Larson using a racial slur?
You are mad because because society now finds using a racial slur unacceptable?

Article/Interview with Bubba Wallace has some pretty good insights. Appears Larson text Wallace approx 5mins after and Wallace has talked to him. I think this probably gives us a little bit of perspective on the human element of the situation. Below is some from the article as well as a link on ESPN
"What Larson said was wrong, whether in private or public. There is no grey area," Wallace posted on Twitter Thursday. "I saw the incident the night it happened and within 5 minutes Kyle texted me. He called me the next morning as well. Finally I called him back with a FaceTime to talk 'face to face,' and we had a good conversation, his apology was sincere. His emotions and pride were shattered.
"We discussed why he chose to use that language and I shared my thoughts. I told him, it was too easy for him to use the word and that he has to do better and get it out of his vocabulary. There is no place for that word in this world. I am not mad at him, and I believe that he, along with most people deserve second chances, and deserve space to improve. I do wish him and his family nothing but the best. And I am more than willing to work with him to address diversity and inclusion in our sport."
Went on to say
Diversity and inclusion is a main priority for the sport across every team, every car, every crew member and employee. With that said, It hurts to see the African American community immediately throw NASCAR under the bus with the 'I'm not shocked, it's NASCAR.' NASCAR has been, and will be way better than how we've been represented in the last couple of weeks. As the person that arguably has the biggest voice on this topic in our sport, it's tough for me to speak to because I didn't imagine us being here. Can we all do a better job with inclusion? Absolutely, it's a worldwide problem, not just in our sport. We as humans can always do better."

So exactly who is making $$$ off of banning Kyle???
The "First Nations" people in your area are probably smart enough to not complain to people they suspect won't be sympathetic
Trust me, they protest all the time... You own any land or a house? How would you like it if somebody just came & took it?

Justin Clark
14 hrs ·
So a bit of a long post...
I was talking to my dad today, Doug Clark and we were talking about the situation going on with Kyle and our experiences throughout life/racing.
As a couple of the few African Americans in racing this is our thoughts....
For people to act like they have never made a mistake in life is sad.
No one is better than anyone else but always ready to talk of others peoples faults.
People, maybe the sponsors, friends or fans that have supported Kyle during his career can’t differentiate between derogatory and non-derogatory.
In our opinion he is not using this towards someone in a offensive way at all and you can tell that by the way he was saying it.
He has apologized sincerely and you can see he feels terrible.
Sponsors have to make choices and hopefully it works for them, although many think this is the wrong choice it is their decision as it is your decision to support them.
We all have to remember it is human to error but what matters is if you become a better person through the good or bad times of the experience.
My dad and I stand behind Kyle and wish nothing but the best for him and his Family and cannot wait to see him racing at the track again
It’s human to error, what makes it ok is if you become a better person through the experience
|
Kudos to you & Doug!

Just my two cents.....
(and I already know that it is worth a couple of pennies below that)
Kyle saying the dreaded N word does NOT make him racist any more than Jack Hewitt telling the flagman to KMD makes Jack a homsexual.
(and to those who think the H word is somehow derogatory, get over it)
and I know that it doesn't matter to big corporations who think that they have to cater to every single person who gets butt hurt over words, but it should.
|
Thats weird but funny & probably true (I think.... )

The political excuse is getting really, really old.
Businesses that react in the way they reacted, do so for only 2 reasons: 1. The truly have an issue with the use of racist terms 2. They are scared to death it will have a negative impact on their bottom line. Period. Period. Explamation point!
Stop pretending this is okay because it was 40 years ago. That is just ridiculous!

Even the Black Guys I work with admit that this PC CRAP has gone to far. That is the LIBERAL AGENDA keep us seperate so as not to becom organized.

I NEVER said it was ok, What I am saying is that the punishment doesnt fit the crime and this is totally ubsurd. Did the Black Pitcher lose his job from the METS because he threatened bodily harm to Larson? NO!!!!! Because that is ok according to the PC POLICE aka the LIBERAL MEDIA. That is what all this is too the Companies, they are to afraid of the LIBERTARD MEDIA so instead of dealing with it the Fire Larson. Oh and BTW I am not a Larson fan. I am a guy who believes that there is a Double Standard in this Country and the White Male is the tatrget set up by the LIBTARDS because they cant stand a WHITE WORKING SELF SUFFICIENT RELYING ON NO ONE OR THE GOVT To live. The Libs cant control that person so he isnt their VOTEING SUCCESS BASE so they try to denigrate and humiliate him into submission
