I just posted on another thread I now have 3 family members in the hospital with pnuemonia. They are all from NYC. That's the bad news.
The good news? One of them took a turn for the worst on day 5 or 6. They immediately started to administer the two drugs (malaria anti-viral and z-pac antibiotic of all things) the president was touting the last couple of days. His condition improved very, very quickly. He is going to be released. So, I know that's only one case, but it is one I can confirm first hand. My wife is currently texting a family member now with updates. I know they are using these drugs as a trial right now all over the country. I hope this is the reason he was healed and we soon have an effective treatment!!
On the other hand, his wife has only 15% lung capacity at this time. They are all in their 60's BTW and healthy as far as I know.

Actually, I think the French had already been doing this and the results had been quite good. THat's great news about your family member. This is one of those cases where the federal govt needs to expedite things and get these drugs manufactured quickly.

Correct. However, it seems there's been a lot of skeptisism about it since there hasn't been an FDA trial yet. I feel a lot better having an actual first hand account.

Glad to hear they are improving, thats great news in thes interesting times.
The media proves time and time again that they use their reporting to push an agenda. Some times facts get in the way and they do some creative writing. Pretty sad really, the news no longer gives the facts and lets the people make an opinion. The media tells the public what they should think and tries to make a mokery of those who don't.

So do you include Fox "News" in that statement?

I'm sorry....I'm not on board the "Trump train" at all, but I have a hard time being outraged over this.
They heard the talk of the malaria medication in the briefing, were not sick at all themselves, and were way past the age where they should have common sense. However, instead, they saw a product for fish parasites on their shelf, which had an ingredient with a simlar name to what was being discussed and decided that it was a good idea to ingest it. I am sure the box probably had a poison control warning on it too, as most of those products do. This is an unfortunate case of Darwinism.

Agree. Wow! Some people have a brain the size of a walnut. Then again, I could have told you that just from the last month's dialogue on this forum.

I am not sure what you're trying to say with this.
I will offer my two cents about everyone all worked up about the media:
1. You can just watch the news and gather the facts as best they are presented to you.
2. Investigate numerous sources. There are plenty of other sources to compare numbers and figures.
3. Drown out the political bashing and bias. Turn on CNN after the president speaks. It is a totally different response than the response from FOX News after he speaks. But, who cares? You heard the speech. You heard the experts that gave the numbers. You saw the ticker at the bottom of the screen. You can see the stock markets on the bottom right corner. You can hear doctors, scientists and experts on both networks. Who gives a flying rat's ass what the opinion of the anchors is? Who cares? Just take in the info, and do the moron thing we should all be doing----thinking and forming our OWN opiion.
4. Weed out complete bogus reports. I'm not talking about opinion pieces. I'm talking about garbage from militia groups, any news source with a skull and cross-bones as its logo, doomsdayer's sites, etc. You should be able to pick it up quickly. W.H.O. and CDC sites are legit sites with legit info-----even if the info doesn't jive well with what your favorite or least favorite politician has been telling you.
5. Draw a conclusion ONLY after investigating numerous sources.
You don't have to live in complete fear that everything on TV is crap. The numbers going across the bottom of the screen and presented by the scientists are real, tangible things. You can use those to better understand what's going on and where we should be heading. I really don't care about the spin from the anchors and hosts. I just don't. I also am not getting sucked into this whirlwind surrounding the fact that the stimulous bill didn't pass the first couple of times. You have 2 parties here with 2 very different agendas. There is going to have to be a compromise at some point. It will happen and it will happen very soon. Saying one party cares and the other doesn't is just dumb. The media doesn't bother me right now. It's the morons that buy everything their favorite politicians tell them to buy----no matter what side you're on.

+1 on 3 &4. The information is the information and the facts are facts so it should not matter what anchor on whatever network says. The more and more things happen the more I feel that the garbage/militia/conspiracy groups have to go. I am all for freedom of speech and freedom of press but they are not press anymore. Some of the stuff on both sides over the past decade is starting to get a little bit too out of hand but people eat that stuff up and cannot separate fact from fiction because they believe what they want to believe.
Also, don't be afraid to change your beliefs or your thoughts when new factual information is presented. It does not make you stupid for doing so, in fact its quite the opposite. It seems that people just want to use the media as a crutch for their failure not to look into something further and thinking for themselves. Their are known sources out there that do not have a bais but many people will reject that information because it conflicts with their beliefs for some reason or another. Doesn't make you any less of a human, person, man, tough guy, and no for some of you your penis size is not going to shrink if you change your opinion when new infromation is presented
