Great podcast this week as Steve interviewed Fred Rahmer about Ford and Toyota coming into 410 racing.
Fred was transparent, respectful, yet honest about his real concerns about what especially TRD could do to sprint car racing. He said that if TRD comes in with a moter (68-70k for a midget moter) that's obviously better, it could make all the Chevy owners really in a tight spot. Fred said that this was nothing againt Ford and Toyota, just concerned about what it could do to the sport over the next few years.
It will be interesting to hear what World Racing Group has to say in response.
It seems like there's about 10 or so 410 tracks across the country, that if they got together on this, could have a lot of say in this issue. What if Knoxville, Eldora, then the Cali, Pennsylvania, and Ohio tracks got unity about engine costs? Or does World Racing Group really have so much power that those track owners just have to do what they say anyway? And that's a BIG "what if" about those tracks getting together about engines anyway.
