All I know of this guy is that i recall hearing and reading his name a few times last year so none of these questions are an attack of any kind and i respect his decision. He is the same age as i am and I doubt id ever start a commitment like this so good for him and again no disrespect but i do ask,
The twitter post didnt share a lot about his accomplishments, has he been winning a bunch in the 360s, dominating?
Those who know him what do you honestly expect from him results wise?
And from the release they say they have a car chief and a mechanic and are looking for a crew chief. What are the differences between crew chief and car chief?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I think this is great for the WoO. I have seen Wayne win a lot of races and even some 410's.
Results wise? Not sure. If he has a good piece, he will be competitive.

Great news. Congratulations Wayne !
I've been a fan of his since he won the grizzly nationals in 2017 and then went on Winged Nation to talk about it. It is definitely on of my favorite Winged Nation episodes ever. Check it out here:

Wayne was a very competitive driver on the ASCS tour in the prime years with Jason Johnson, Shane Stewart, Gary Wright just to name a few. While he won't be a perennial threat night in and night out, he will have his moments where he can sneak some top 5s, especially at Lawton and Devil's Bowl. Overall, it's great for the sport to have a veteran like Wayne to pony up and join the tour.

Was that 1 win in 410's the inagural NSL race? Or was that prior to 2015----time flies so I cannot remember.
I was at that race, and if I'm not mistaken, he won that night passing Sammy and McCarl in the closing laps. Great race.
Hasn't he also landed in the 410 A-main at the Nationals numerous times? I feel like he's even earned some pretty good starting spots.

They won't make 3 months. Any GOOD crew chief if already locked up, and many top teams have a hard time keeping a track grunt. 2 months, what was I thinking. He makes it beyond that good for him.

I hope you're wrong. It would be great for a veteran like him to be able to compete in a full season in the WoO, pull out a few wins, and end with a top 6-8 in the points. I know that's going to be a tough haul, but it would be fun.

I've seen Wayne race in a variety of series, but the memory that stands out the most is a few years back, Knoxville Nats, Friday nite.
Approaching Turn 3, Wayne decided to give Sammy "a taste of his own medicine" & nearly put him into the wall. Sammy was over the cushion in 3 & 4, 4 or 5 different moves in a second to recover, while several cars passed him. Sammy pulled out of it & not only passed Wayne, but eventually won the race. He could not only dish it out, but take it....
I know this thread is about Wayne, not Sammy... Couldn't resist...

Wayne is used to spendjng a ton of time on The road. I think he'll make it the whole year unless he loses a bunch of motors or wrecks a ton.

My guess, he's doing it for the tow money. He will follow the WoO for the first part of the season, then cut out and go do his own thing ...

As a person he is a top notch guy. He will do well if he has a good car and engines. It will be tough at his age but he has mentally what it takes.

What is his owner Todd Carlile's background?. I feel a lot better about Wayne's chances for success after listening to him on this week's Sprint Car Unlimited podcast. It sounds like the team is funded enough to compete and stocked with enough equipment and parts to go the distance. I think it is neat that at age 48, and with a stellar career, that Wayne is able to do this at this point of his career. The best of luck.
