Yeah, those hellacious 42-lap green flag runs, just suck. No time to go get a beer.

Can't wait till next year. Hope to see more butts in the stands. Tue. the stands were maybe half full. Loved the format for this race because it makes you get every point you can. None of this "I'm in a transfer spot so I don't need to pass any one" If this grows as it should it would be nice to see more "money sponsors" so they could make it a three day show. Then run it just like the Trophy Cup with a full 20 car inversion on the third night.
But that would take 150K to 200k to run it like the Trophy Cup. I can dream can't I?

Who was the money guy behind this? It always seemed odd to have such a big paying race on a random Tuesday and Wednesday in November. I assume there was no expectation of making any money.

Matt Wood from Elk Grove Ford. The guy really loves racing and I'm thankful for all he has contributed, especially for the midgets.

I've never been to the Trophy Cup but the format was supposed to be similar. Points for time trials, 8 car invert in the heats with passing points being awarded, points, definately had to be earned High point racers from the prelim night locked into final night. Race winner gets 20K, high points for the 2 day show earned 12K, Larson won both prizes. Great field of cars and outstanding talent.

A little too spread out, but it is almost a California midget week. Hangtown, Bakersfield this weekend and Ventura on Thursday.
I have been to Ventura a couple different times but it was always a regular race night. I would love to go for a touring series.

Matt Wood deserves a lot of credit. I had my doubts about this event, but it turned out great. Excellent field of cars, a format that resulted in a ton of real racing, and a fairly racy track surface. My only gripe was the late hour at which the races ended each night.
I hope Matt is willing to do it again in 2020.

Curious what you mean we around 95 green flag laps of the announced 100. The first 50 featured 42 laps non stop with a yellow/red at 50. The first 50 laps, prior to the fuel stop were the best 50 lap race i have ever seen??

I took two days off of work and flew down from Washington to see this race and it was well worth it. I was skeptical, but was happy I froze to see the race. No regrets and will be back next year. Matt Wood as done a lot for California racing supporting SCCT, with car sponsorships and this race. We need more folks like this in racing.

Good times for west coast midget fans and it would be nice to have a left coast midget week, but this is pretty close to the awsomeness that it would be. Bakersfield looks really racy tonight!!!

Those numbers aint bad but the ChiliBowl can do that in one night and still have a good show.
