What a rip off $59 for that followed a freight train race
Late models were much better and I'm a hardcore Sprint car fanatic
But I must say a beautiful facility but $59 come on
If it wasn't for my comp tickets we would have never gone
Typical won Nascar types take over dirt track racing

I only watched the highlight video and listened a bit to dirtvision. The whole in corner one seemed large and of the several times I've watched highlights from this track I have never been impressed with the surface. Looks rough and dusty all the time. It made me wonder why they hold the event there when there seems to be many other better facilities. Maybe those great ones had to shut off the water cause it might freeze. Just seems like a mediocre track for such an event. But then again they are selling the 3 classes grouped together only once a season for the price you pay.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Was $59 the general admission price for Saturday? We renew our tickets in advance every year... paid $107 per ticket this year and that included reserved seat and pit pass for all 3 nights. Friday's features were great. Saturday's sprint car feature didn't have the most passing but the intensity between Schatz and Sweet was incredible. Not to mention they traded positions a few times and that had me on the edge on my seat.
I've been to the World Finals every year since 2010... typically the late models put on the better features. As a hardcore sprint car fan myself its becoming one of my favorite race weekends. My only complaint is the purse. Top 5 toughest field of cars all year and they're racing for $12k? In my opinoin this should be $30k to win minimum.

That many cars on a track for 3 days would cause any track to be in not the best shape. All in all it was not that bad. Sprint car feature might have been better had they raced first. I was just very happy that Sweet won and nnt Donny. It could have been better and it could have been worse. I guess if you are a Donny fan it was bad, if you are a Sweet fan it was good. You name a better track this time of year with that many cars.

A few comments from the purse standpoint. Yes, the 12k to win and 1k to start isnt a great purse for such a huge event, but...
From a promoters standpoint, all the top divers ARE there, you sell out every year, what motivation do you have to increase the purse? You are not gonna get much more cars or fans.
And if you look at the total purse they are paying, its basically a 32k to win show, 2600 to start, with a 130k (24 car) purse EACH night. Not many shows can compare to that.

If you combine all three a mains the World Finals pays $32,000 to win and $2,500 to start each night. Purse is fine.
If people didn’t like the drama of both those points deals coming down to the last lap, I don’t have anything to tell you, you might not like this racing thing....

Ok... but nobody is racing in all 3 divisions so this is a meaningless comment. Hardly anyone even races in 2 divisions. From a racer's viewpoint they're racing for 10k to win and 1k to start. I agree with BillV that the promoter has no real reason to up the purse as the car count and fan attendance isn't going to improve much. Obviously the purse isn't hurting the popularity of the event, so it is "my opinion" that $12k feels like a pathetic amount for an event with so much hype.

From a racer's stanpoint, I'm sure it is a big deal, to be racing in front of one of the largest crowds of the year, many of whom are buying a lot of T-Shirts, not to mention most of the dirt racing world is watching, including sponsors!
Yes, I'm sure they'd love if the purse was higher, but that's not everything!

And I'm not sure where all these better facilities are at that can accomodate 20,000 fans, 160-180 cars, race in November, and have a surface that can withstand that much racing every night without having to rework it.

Not sure the logic in complaining about the price of tickets... when you had comp tickets.
$59 for 3 major divisions, if I was not 1200 miles away I would gladly pay that.

All valid points. Just seems pathetic the 50/50 winner is taking home more money on Saturday than the winner of all 3 divisions combined. The Kings Royal and Knoxville Nationals are certainly healthy from attendance standpoints yet they've increased their purses in 2019 and 2020. The only point I'm trying to make is the event deserves to pay more than 12k to in when a standard WoO show pays 10k. If you disagree then so be it...

Racing just Ok. I am a sprint fan but mostly freight train heats and again time trial shows suck for good pass racing.
Facility is nice but need much better internet. Dont carry alot of cash and credit cards at th he stands were not working well at all. Drivers lost money I bet.
Too dusty folks down low could not see the cars for dodging all the dust Fridat. Saturday alittle better.
They keep the show moving which is great.
Thursday is waste unless you like qualifying and time trials. Will only do Friday and Saturday next year
Loved seeing working woody again

Again the total purse is around $300k. Yes it’s split between 3 divisons but very few dirt races have a $300k total purse.

$59 for three features of major sanctioning bodies. All three of them are at the top of thier games. For a value point of view, I think that it is a great value. My only complaint is that it is in November. Every year, when the races is being promoted, I get excited about it. Every year, I think that next year, I am going to add this event to my racing calendar. Every year, I watch the hightlights and see all of the people bundeled up and looking like they are freezing. Every year, I decide that I am not going to spend my limited travel funds/vacation days to go and freeze.

I paid 95 plus tax for all three nights with pit passes when I bought tickets back in June. If you buy ahead of time, I think the World Finals are perhaps the best deal in all of dirt track racing for big time shows.
A WoO Late MOdel race (single division) is usually $25-$40 to get in
A WoO Sprint Car race (single division) is usually $25-$40 to get in
A SuperDirt Series race (single division) is usually $20-$35 to get in
Even if you skipped the Thursday night show having bought the three day pass it comes to about $50 per night with a pit pass included, which adds 10-30 bucks depending on where you are in the country. The fields are incredible, the atmosphere is great, and the access is unreal there. I have seen some stinker races (rubbered up one groove, or tire blowout fests), and also some of the best races I've seen all year in the times I've been there. A couple of years ago, Danny Johnson and Tyler Dippel ran 20 laps side by side for the lead in the mod race, Darrell Lanigan and Chris Madden ran 25 laps side by side for the lead in the late model race, and Rico Abreu ran side by side with (I think) Brian Brown for a win for a good number of laps...all in the same year. The A Main at Knoxville was a stinker this year, but I still love Knoxville.
As was said before, while the purse might not be the greatest for one division, when you add it all up, they are paying out a lot of money over the nights they are there. I do wish the concessions weren't so darn expensive though.

Are you an owner or driver? (I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I really don't know) If not why do you care? I've never understood why fans get so worked up about the purse. You got to watch the best in sprint car racing, sounds like it wasn't horrible racing. What difference does it make to you if they raced for $12 or $12 million?

Agreed, it is pathetic for such stellar fields but then again look at the chili bowl. 200+ cars(well half-cars) for 10G to win. The cars and fans keep showing up. Makes me scratctch my head but whatever.

Comparing the chilli bowl to anything is stupid. It is run when ? It is a race that anyone wants to win. You have any clue what it costs them to lease that huge facility for the duration of at least 3 weeks ?

Just a fan. I think its more exciting when the difference between payout for 1st and 2nd is greater. I'm sure drivers are giving it their all regardless but its just how I feel. Take Kings Royal for example... While the prestige of winning the race alone is probably enough for the drivers, 175k for 1st and 25k for 2nd makes it more intersting to me. While I don't expect the World finals to pay anything like that it would be cool if they paid 30-50k to win and truly became another "crown jewel" race.
Another reason... after the race they interviewed Gravel before Sweet. Being there in person I wanted to hear what Sweet had to say and hear his emotion. Instead we heard Gravel thank his sponsors n blah blah blah for basically winning a standard WoO race.
