I fully agree - but as long as outsourcing has gone on now - and for the amount of our economy that belongs to nations and markets outside of america.......it will never happen. Thats why we are being completely surpassed by China as the worlds #1 super power. Wal-Mart uses primarily chinese products - and as big as they are - its untold billions for china's economy - in fact, by shopping wal-mart you contribute to the rise of china's economy and the fall of america's. Sorry - back to the point - we buy all sorts of stuff from China --- but how much do they turn around and buy from us.......not near that much. and the gap is only getting wider. Thats why I say it's better to go to your local family-owned or american owned grocery store and pay 5% more for products. Wal-Mart is a very evil monopoly. In fact, if anyone cares to -- there was a great documentary made about wal-mart titled "Wal-Mart : the high cost of low price" and man it will open eyes to a ton of messed of things about that company. before I on for 30 minutes......I'll just say I support the American-owned grocery stores. And in sprint car racing I'm 100% for american made manufactorers - and 100% definitely AGAINST - XXX chassis. If race teams are so hard up for savin a buck that they would buy xxx for less than eagle and American Manufactorers - maybe they should look first at the size of hauler they are toting around. Last time I checked - guys like Travis Rilat and Brian McClelland have very very BIG ones..........

I'm not much on Nostradomas(?), but I've been waiting to throw this one in somewhere. I remember in July 1999 there was a big rumor going around that a prediction he made was about up on time. It even made The Daily Oklahoman. Basically  the quote was " The great king of terror will come down out of the sky and revive the king of the Monguls." The only thing that happened that month between us and China was our womens National Soccer team won over the Worlds Cup Womens title from China. Remember the girl scoring the winning goal and taking her shirt off? Well, I thought 'big deal' too. -------Yet in 2001 we had 911 and about that time China was REALLY using up materials so much the prices shot up soon after and they haven't looked back yet. Nosty missed the drama by 2 years and 2 months! Pretty good for being 500 years (give or take a century) away.

I don't have a clue as to why this stays with me, but some food for thought.  TOO BIG, TOO FAST CAUSES A LOT OF PROBLEMS ,  Japan was doing the same things on a smaller scale in the '80s.

I sometimes hate typing thoughts instead of talking..........because tone of voice goes far in perception. So when I ask this - it as purely as question. You said around 9/11 china started using up materials and prices have not looked back. Not to question it as I'm sure you're right - but I'm failing to see the point. What did one have to do with the other? again - not questioning your logic but just trying to understand the point.

The monopoly that Wal-mart with their Chinese made products has over all other retailers is astounding and will lead to many unforseen problems in our economy. It seems our economy is so dependent on foreign investments that as much as the rest of the world's hatred of our country deepens - again will have huge negative impacts on our economy. Again changing direction - the majority of our largest foreign investments are done by EHM's. Economic Hit Men. American companies present energy or construction plans to smaller or 3rd world nations. And analysts who recive corporate paychecks gain access to that particular country's budget. The same analysts inflate that budget and tell those repping the opposite that we will do this and this and that - and you will pay is X amount yearly. But the figures of what the opposite can pay have been distorted or at some turns that nations budget is dependant upon certain products. Products whose prices are controlled by the governments, corporations, or allies. So in turn that country learnes quickly that they can;t pay what they agreed to......the deceptive nature of the deal taking a back seat to the debt itself. The corporation - instead of suing or trying to restructure the deal instead tells said country they want UN votes or many many other kinds of crooked incentives. And since the corporations that pull this off the most are american owned and have extremely high influence or even owners in the State Department, Justice Department, and for all we know congress as well. Heck - look where our president and vice president have come from for example. But it's just one of many examples of how our corporations are highly tied in with our government. And I hate to sound radical - but that is the true definition of fascism. When our government meets every need for billion dollar businesses instead of the min. wage citizen. It;s gone so far that wars are started on false pretenses so that massive contracts are given out. Which alone means nothing. But - as independant comittee's are investigating - the process of contract bidding and selections has bordered into the illegal. I think it goes without saying what companies are gettin the special treatment.

I could go forever with this one as well - but instead I'll just leave the above as an example of the nature of capitalism. What most want to ignore is there is alwasy a downfall for it too. And thats why America needs to be run and belong to americans and american companies that employ american workers using american made products. Companies have flew the coup one after another for many reasons - all of which lead to more money for them. Cheaper employment - more money. Less taxes - more money. The sad truth is as these companies do this to make more money - the government grants them highly unnecessary tax cuts - as if they need em. ANd even worse these companies take their ever-increasing profits and employ high-powered lobbyists to gain power in our government and stability for their shoddy business practices. And finally with even our presidential elections determined more by fundraising and corporate endorsements (many from the same companies who use the above practices) - the likelihood of this changing grows ever smaller.

Many don't like to know these things. I don't have it all right or know it all. And maybe I don;t want to either. The clearer things become the clearer it is that their aren;t many rational ways to change it considering how votes are manipulated, coerced, or bought and paid for. I'd hope maybe someday we could vote folks in who could make a better country and better life for its people, but sadly I feel all the people who could ever be capable of such a thing we will never see run for office. Because they won't have the corporate endorsements or backing.

Sorry for another rant........but I mean it for positive (not negative as it could seem) discussion. If it's not ones liking or is just too long - don't bother yourself by reading it. I don't care ot get into arguments with anyone.

And btw - just for fun - are there any more nostradamus prophecies comin up? It's amazing the amount of things he has gotten right. But then again - it;s hard to know if he really got em right - as vague as his prophecies were it would be difficult to get em wrong........lol.

then again - a large percentage of folks think that wal-mart is one of the most american things in this country. They couldn't imagine life or shopping without wal-mart. I don't think the principle matters to most - only the bright lights and low prices. Same goes for McDonalds too. I think we will see the average life expectancy fall drastically because of the way this country eats. not just Mickey D's - but a whole lot of nasty crap our people gorge therselves with.

My point was, Chinas returning to superpower status has been coming. One Billion hardworking hungry people feeding our demand for cheap products.

Avoiding them is going to be expensive since we fed them our wealth $.99 at a time. Now they are rebuilding a communist driven dynasty that at some point will see losing our business as an impossible, yet moot point.

911 set our economy back, and I'm certain China benefitted INDIRECTLY. A building surge was on and that requires investment. Investment provides cash flow to buy materials to build with. Our steel, oil etc. prices went through the roof as they were buying these things while they were still cheap. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm turning off my chinese made computer and going elsewhere.

Bucky, kiss my a**. I have two sides you can choose from.
